The case with t's Psychoanorexia is a peculiar little issue, just in case someone finds all of those reviews dubious. Thing is that in a German 'zine a reviewer wrote a negative review where the outcome could be read more as a personal attack on the artist than the music itself. Questioning the artists motivation and stuff like that. And when some readers commented negatively on that, the reviewer was less than humble about it. Which caused a massive and heated sh*tstorm of the kind Progarchives have never seen the likes of ever.

I kind of suspect that one of the indirect results of that, besides more people buying the album to find out what the fuss was all about, was that some fans old and new alike also wanted to voice their support and opinions by writing a review here. In other words, there's nothing here instigated by the artist or promoter, but most likely a result of the aforementioned volcanic heat sh*tstorm that occurred in Germany.

Hey, the new Dream Theater is already been rated 5 stars.  Is there any way to find out if some schmuck is rating it that way just because, you know, Dream Theater is so totally awesome that all their albums should be 5 stars?  I find it hard to believe anyone has heard it yet.Angry

Good point.  Let me rephrase: Can we find out why someone has rated it months ahead of release?

Occasionally people can have legit advance copies in their possession.  This happened with S. Wilson's album too.

If Roadrunner are sending out advance copies so people can rate them without a review then they should send copies to all of us.

In the meantime the album and rating has been deleted and the silly tit who rated it has won themselves a free no expense spent vacation from the PA.

Wow, that is a lot of 1 star ratings and 5 star ratings.  I guess people don't have anything better to do.

No it isn't. It's someone rating the albums they like.

That's not sarcasm, it's just an assessment of the guy's ratings.

You report something, I assess it and report back.

If you like I could just ignore all these reports. (now that's sarcastic)

Haha  Never had a run-in with Dean?  I must say, I like that guy's taste, but it seems like Dean is right that he is just rating what he really, really likes.  Some people don't care that much about tearing down what they don't like.
