Topic: Prog Rock Limericks Posted: June 21 2013 at 23:23 |
Was just hanging around on a Friday night and came up with these. Hope other people post some too
There was once a player named Fripp Who's musical skills were a trip He became Crimson King Though he never could sing Take a picture of him and he'd flip!
Jethro Tull once was a band 'till Ian got way out of hand He fired the crew Even Martin Barre too Taking matters into his own hands!
In Genesis once did I trust Then Phil Collins went crazy with lust The three took a chance Though they just couldn't dance And they traded their fans for a buck!
Pink Floyd were the space rocking Kings Then Roger changed everything His ego went mad Treating Gilmour so bad That poor David for years couldn't sing!

An A+ for effort but you forgot the last line...how about:
Three young musical guys they were In Tarkus and on Karn Evil's they prospered But the 80's they couldn't reach So they went to a love beach Wearing disco shirts none would prefer.
I have a feeling there may be several Love Beach cover limericks on the way

When I think of sand and palm trees I never could see E. L. P. But those bare chested boys Made a Godawful noise And the album price should have been free!

I will never understand how a seasoned witch could call me from the depths of my disgrace and rearrange my liver to the solid mental grace, but Yes is still the greatest band that ever existed. Sorry, that's not a limerick, just my thoughts.

There were two boys from Willowdale Craving to see girls from a stage But then a drummer they found with lyrics so profound That instead they saw boys oh so pale!

Was a Prog Masterman from Ealing
For to get rid of an over-powering feeling
Got a metalprogger most faulty
To bird-dog his Salty
In a manner most endearing.
