Omg...my love for HYPERBOREA might be on par with Phaedra.
Oh man more 1980's magic up my butt again. Hyperborea Is an amazing album.

Everyone stop what you are doing and go buy that album. I'm serious. Christmas must come early this year. Lol
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Nick, when I gave it another spin, I thought pretty much all of `Hyperborea' was superb, I've had it for years but really unappreciated it. Only that `Cinnamon Road' is a little throwaway! It kind of reminds me of one of the lighter tracks that French band Air might do - and I don't mean that as a putdown! Upbeat, light and cheery synth-pop!

^ should also check out the Edgar Froese solo album Pinnacles which was recorded more or less the same time as Hyberborea. Has similar synths and a similar stark wilderness based theme based on the Australian outback..

^^ I love you guys.

Long live and love Hyperborea. I admit though, I don't love all the tracks on it but that is usually the case for me with most T.D albums except Ricochet and Rubycon. Good lord those are unreal.

'Pinnacles' - very good album indeed, but hats off for the 'tron drenched 'Macula Transfer'.  'Stuntman' is quite under-appreciated - with titles like 'Drunken Mozart In The Desert' or 'Detroit Snackbar Dreamer', perhaps 'Scarlet Score For Mescalaro' - it's gotta be good, right ??

I like most of Froese's solo work including the very ambient Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. Stuntman is great heading more towards JM Jarre territory to my ears.I  like the brightness of the sound and ideas on that album.

Good to hear you like those ones, Mr Morse (if that is your real name!)

Also good to see more attention given to Glass Hammer's `Perelandra', probably their first really strong work, although I do like that `One' recording that fits in essentially before their first album. Doesn't sound much like typical Hammer stuff, but is a grand work in it's own right.

I've got to hear that "One" album, it seems to be pretty obscure as I haven't seen it really anywhere (even on online stores etc.) Or maybe I have just been looking in the wrong places. And no, Morse is not my real name LOL I'd love to be somehow related though.
You love the music, the music loves you!

I am quite fond of KC's Beat, more than Discipline.

And Spectral Mornings never did much for me :/

Before the times of PA, I'd probably say A Passion Play, but on here it's widely considered a regular masterpiece - with unspectacled hare and all...

I like Epsilon, but especially his solo debut Aqua. Never heard any later on.

^My fave is Aqua as well DougApprove

For some reason always overshadowed by Epsilon. I think it is a wonderful piece of electronic music, and unlike his later material, it doesn't really come off as Tangerine Dreamy.
Love the experimentations he did with watery sounds tooBig smile

My favorite Camel album is Breathless, and most prog types feel it's a step down from their earlier days. On the other hand, Moonmadness is my least favorite of their 70s albums, though side 2 is pretty sweet.

Froese's CHILDREN OF A DEEPER STUDY of the AGES album is really amazing too. It sounds like something that came within the 1980's synth sound movement, but really the album is from 1977. :)

My favourite Dream Theater Album is WDADU, it is actually one of my favourite Prog Albums of all time. And my all time favourite Rush Album is A Show of Hands, as it sums up so perfectly the best Rush era.
Like some one else mentioned here, I also don't really like JT's Aqualung, it is probably my least favourite Tull album. As a big Spock's Beard fan I also have to admit that Snow is to me the most boring and irritating Beard album.
