I seriously must drive Godbluff out of my head. It's been in for a few days and it's beginning to annoy me. It's just too awesome but I want to take a rest, no more Godbluff, NOMOREGODBLUFF

That said, today:
Godbluff 3 times

That reminds me of a time that I had Undercover Man stuck in my head for an 8 hour work day. That experience was partially the reason why I never listen to that album any more.Tongue

It's a parasite definitely. It sucks all the power and (most importantly) will to study. Well, if anyone asks why do I have bad Geography grades, I'm going to point them at the album. I would have studied if it hadn't been for Hammill's voice constantly singing The Undercover Man inside my mind.

I was discussing Fripp's opening performance for the G3 tour in 1997, and raved about how tremendous the duet including Fripp and Steve Vai's guitarist Mike Keneally.....

I hadn't realized that some of this was actually taped and released on DGM, so I downloaded it and listened to it!

I met Mike at a music store event once and asked him about this, he didn't think any tape of his duets with Fripp survived, so this was a nice find!

There's only a bit of Keneally's playing in here, but it shows how powerful Soundscapes could be if used as a musical platform to build upon.  By itself, I find Soundscapes a bit dull....however, there is some really potent "space-rock" sounds that Fripp generated.  Listen to the samples a bit...

I'd love to hear a guy like John Goodsall solo over Soundscapes tracks!!

So far I have listened to:
Elton John - Greatest Hits 1970-2002
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks Live At The Hollywood Bowl

And presently listening to
Nina Simone - Nina Simone For Lovers

No doubt I will be listening to more after this, although I haven't decided what to play next yet.

I hadn't heard these before! Thanks for the link, so, these were live clips then? I totally agree that soundscapes and ambience is a pretty solid base to start with, I love the idea of underlying frequencies in a piece of music. I often like to start off with space-rock sounds and synchronise my brain before I expand on it!
