I love Moonchild, and all of it. Anyone who thinks the instrumental section is pointless noodling or boring has not really been listening to it. Every line of the lyrics is expressed in that instrumental part. Just one example: "Playing hide and seek with the ghosts of dawn" from 9:41 to 10:19. Now go and spot the other lines. |

Why did you bother listening to it that much if you find it so boring? |

'I do remember Giles drumming, it took hours and hours by the time I was done with it, I was so involved I didn't know what to think I listened to it for days and days playing little games like not listening to it for a whole day and then listening to it to see if I still dislike it, I DID!!! the more I listen to it, the more I dislike it. I do think it's bad that fact is, no matter how closely I studied it, no matter how I take it apart, no matter how I'll break it down i t remains consistent, I wish you were here to HEAR IT!! On a serious note, to see what is the deal there?really that's why I listened to it that much I can honestly say that Michael's playing is the only interesting thing about it Edited by ProgMetaller2112 - February 14 2013 at 18:42 |

I take it you don't like much early Krautrock either because there are often passages or sometimes whole tracks in it which are quite similar to "Moonchild". Example: "The Marilyn Monroe Memorial Church" from "Tanz der Lemminge" by Amon Düül 2. |

I'm not really familiar with Krautrock to be honest but I'll take a listen, I just don't like Moonchild. Can I ask what year these tracks were made? |

"Tanz der Lemminge" is from 1971. If you are curious about that track go here:
That was only an example, by the way; I could have mentioned many other tracks by other artists. How about "Vergegenwärtigung" by Popol Vuh (1976)? Go to the 19:40 mark for that track; it ends at 36:27. Or "Atem" by Tangerine Dream (1973)? Edited by BaldFriede - February 15 2013 at 04:07 |
