21. Peron (Turkey)

Don’t apologize; there’s somebody from the team here, so I can check the band which I found hallucinating and quite interesting.

I like to use some methodology to search, so the first thing I did was to check everything about the band:

GEPR: This is a band from Izmir, Turkey which existed between 1973-1980 and was responsible for an incredible style of Symph-prog being influenced by such wide sources as Turkish folk to Stravinsky and from Psychedelia to King Crimson. At the time, they weren't able to release their music on vinyl so they were completely unknown. [Recently] a new label took matters into hands and released their long lost previously unreleased album on vinyl and CD. http://www.gepr.net/to.html#21PERON

Also found them in another site that I don’t trust (They used to provide illegal downloads) but it’s a reference

PrognotFrog: The Izmir College band was started in 1970 highly influenced by Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and even performed Tommy at some schoolshows back in 1972. They won the Milliyet contest in 1973 with a self written tune. After that the group members changed, (due to graduating), included a viola player and renamed their group into '21.Peron'. Their influences expanded and included Zappa, Genesis and Gentle Giant, with still sympathy for the Anadolu rock which they continued to develop. In 1974 they did a progrock jingle for a national radio show by Ümit Tunçag who supported jazz and progressive music. Sites as Proggnosis don’t mention them, but I’m sure they are Prog and belong in Prog Archives

Now my opinion: I listen mainly Heavy Prog with folk and Symphonic strong references, 100% Prog by the way

My Conclusion: Not sure if they are Symphonic, IMHO sound more suitable for  

1. Heavy Prog
2. Eclectic
3. Folk
4. Psyche/Symphonic

In this order

But I won’t reject 21. Peron,  will only delay their addition until Eclectic and Folk Team check them, if this band is not accepted by any team, I will fight for their inclusion in Symphonic, and knowing my teammates, I’m almost sure they will be accepted if the alternative is to reject them from Prog Archives.
