After Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden in 1992 , James LaBrie was offered to come in for an audition. He turned it down of course.

Can you imagine LaBrie with Maiden??? Would that work? I don't know.

Well, there's Dream Theater's cover of Number of the Beast, I guess you could get a good idea of how Iron Maiden could have sounded with La Brie.

Another SOPRANOS tv show factoid. Tony's #2 guy, SILVIO DANTE is played by non other than, STEVIE VAN ZANT who is a lead rhythm guitarist for Bruce Springsteen and the e street band. Freakin hilarious!!

In a Mojo magazine interview a few years ago, Gilmour said that soon after he first joined the Floyd in January '68 he left again, but was reinstated a few days later.

That's probably why Jeff Beck plays on Amused to Death. Another relevant guitarist in Pink Floyd's history is the bluesman Snowy White. He plays on Wright's "Wet Dreams", he  was one of the "sosia" on "The Wall" tour and plays in Roger Waters DVD "In The Flesh"

NEO PROG Neighbours, PALLAS lent the band ARENA at Mellotron for their debut album, SONGS FROM THE LIONS CAGE.

Also, STEVE ROTHERY was the featured guitarist for the track CRYING FOR HELP pt4 on the album as well.

Neat facts, but I guess not all together obscure. ;)

Probably not very surprising or exciting, but one of the guest guitarists in Chris Squire and Billy Sherwood's album Conspiracy was Jimmy Haun, the guy who was requested by Arista to replace significant part of Howe's original playing in Yes "Union".

The song Alien Shore by Rush (Counterparts) starts with a guy saying something quietly, I noticed that when I listened to it with my earphones. I must be hallucinating but I think he says "Ten lo barosh..." which means "Hit'em on the head..." in hebrew. When I looked it up on the net I saw someone said it's Lifeson with his nose closed said "Out of my nose..." but that was never confirmed by any of the band members. It's a mystery!

As a matter of fact, I believe Pink Floyd's history with Snowy White began with him playing on the Animals Tour with Pink Floyd as a back-up to Gilmour, so they didn't have to use recordings in the show to fill in the gaps. There's a single version of the song "Pigs in the Wing" which has both parts played together and with a guitar solo joining both parts... that guitar solo is played by Snowy White (however, I must say that for me, this version of the song would have benefited if Gilmour had played that solo).

THE PALLAS "REEDOTRON":
 
I don't have the original Pallas 1985 EP The Knightmoves or the 1986 album The Wedge but I have the 1992 CD "Knightmoves to Wedge" which combined both in a single release.
The credits mention singer Alan Reed as "Vocals (Reedotron MK11???)" where "Reedotron" sounds like a joke to me.
 
 
 
However if you Google "pallas reedotron" you will see that quite a few sites seem to have fallen into the trap and replicate the credits of this "instrument" to Alan Reed.
 
ProgressiveWorld.net even lists the "Reedotron" in the credits of the CD re-issue of The Sentinel where the singer was still Euan Lowson!
 
 
Anybody knows anything about this anecdote?
