This. There are certain songs alone from Radiohead that Porcupine Tree and Muse couldn't touch in an entire discography's worth of trying.

Let's clear this up. Maybe they don't fall snugly into the "Prog" genre (I'm assuming this is what you meant). But if we're talking progressive, by the definition of the word itself, they most definitely are. Radiohead is one of the most forward-thinking bands of the past decade and into the late 90s, if not the most. Now, if anybody here doesn't think that Radiohead is a progressive band, you need to do some serious research into their discography, because you're missing out on some of the most well-composed contemporary music that history has to offer. Main point here: Radiohead will be remembered worldwide for generations upon generations to come, whereas you simply can't say the same for Muse (  ) or Porcupine Tree. Do great bands often stay under the radar and miss out on the recognition they deserve? Yes. But often times, there's a reason.

Not actually sure P tree are going to be regarded at the unknown level. (getting 64% of the recognition vote) As contempoaries of Radiohead their lack of profile by comparison is quite considerable.
Escaping the shadows of their prominent rock origins may be a problem. Radiohead with their post new wave, alt rock (even from Kid A) RIO influences (which in turn are hardly well known) and may allow people to think of Radiohead as more original than they really are. P Tree with the links to Pink Floyd still swirling. Shame really as they (by now) have more albums than the Floyd and probably more all over excellent ones.
These days there are a lot of great bands but the golden era only ever featured a few and allowed easier focus and consumption.
Now it's all very different.

I think Porcupine Tree wins over the other two, just judging from the masterpieces In Absentia and Fear of a Blank Planet. Radiohead is good but the only album that impresses me is OK Computer. I've tried to get into some of Muse's stuff but it's just not sparking. The Tree wins with Radiohead and Muse left in its shade.

On a progressive rock site this result isn't exactly surprising. Try posting a similar poll with the readers of Rolling Stones magazine, and see who gets out on top. Trust me people - we are the degenerates here.... I did however vote for Porcupine. Not a fan of Radiohead, outside of Kid A that is, and Muse are good for charming the pants off women, but nothing more.

Someone is goin' to holler at me soon, but ... Radiohead must have been caught in the multi-decade loop of experimenting with the sound for the sake of experimenting with the sound (this includes highly experimental Mr. Yorke's "singing"). Personally, I do not enjoy bleak minimalism.
I am tempted to say: When you all are done experimenting, crystallize something in your (Radio)head that sounds like self-sufficient, rich, upbeat music and record an album. If you can, that is. Muse is an interesting band - if you allow yourself to be impressed with their titles and album art, you may think they are a multi-megawatt prog powerhouse, right? Wrong. The music is day-to-day, predictable emo shoegazing stuff (based on the 3 albums we have), and I don't even know why you'd compare them to PT. But, they do have good musicianship and vocals, so that would be a plus.
I don't know if we even need to discuss PT in this context - they are an archetypal "prog" band (well, at least Wilson); they have explored and enriched just about all existing sub-genres of prog and helped create, IMHO, a few new ones.

I like The Bends, OK Computer, and Pablo Honey, but Kid A bores the crap out of me. One of the worst albums in my 1200+ cd collection, quite frankly.
The only Muse I have is Absolution....meh. Though they are a good live band, based on the videos I've watched on youtube.
