Hate to be somewhat unadventurous, but it would have to be 'Supper's Ready' for me

When I first heard it, aged around 11 or 12, it was just like nothing I had ever come across in my life before, and three decades later it still defines the genre better than any other in my opinion

Self titled track. Same as album my friend. 14+min epic. Great song. Layered masterpiece. Have you heard it?
Great track. Never listened to it until now. Shame on me.

Starship Trooper by Yes or Xanadu by Rush. The former one is more for gentle appreciation of the wonders of the world and Xanadu is more like a cool, epic journey.

They fade out at the end, though. Wink I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand that it's just an aesthetic choice that is supposed to make you beg for more. But that's a different story.

Supper's Ready.

Although, TAAB, Revealing Science of God and Echoes are all strong contenders.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

By the way: the purpose of this list is to help you decide on your #1 prog song, to see whether one of your choices was voted for or not. And if you don't pick one but two 'cause you can choose, I will put myself through the process of looking for the second candidates. But try to stick with one if you can.

Yes are doing rather well.

I'll have to give Supper's Ready another listen. It's never really appealed to me before, maybe I lost my head.

Locanda delle Fate is an interesting pick, one of my favourite RPI albums. I'd rather have chosen "A volte un istante di quiete", though..

Very hard one for me, I'm going to have to go with Inca Roads at the moment. Very good & accurate parody of Prog & a great song overall.

"A volte un istante di quiete" is another highlight from an overall very good album, but nothing comes close to the title track for me. It struck a chord with me the first time I heard it and has been my favourite track ever since. But that wasn't too long ago though, less than a year, so my feelings for it may change with time. IDK. I still get surprised how good it actually is every time I hear it, so I don't think I will get tired of it any time soon.

I will definitely second this. I cannot find one dull moment in this nearly 50-minute masterpiece, which says something about how good the guys in Echolyn are at writing prog songs.
