Sure it can be evaluated now. Smile

The procedure is that one of the three pre-evalution guys who regularly monitor this forum will listen to your music via the link you have kindly provided and decide firstly whether the music is 'prog', and if so, what the most suitable progarchives sub genre would be for the band to be added into. They would then pass the suggestion on to a team of (usually four) members with expertise in that particular sub genre, who would also listen to your stuff and vote either 'yes', 'no' or maybe 'move' to a more appropriate sub genre if they agree that the music is prog, but not really suitable for their own sub genre. A majority vote 'yes' means that the artist is 'cleared', and from thereon in they are just awaiting a bio to be written and their official releases collated in order for a page to be constructed for them, and the band or artist finally added.

This can sometimes take time - especially for the more obscure acts, and the process can be much speeded up if the band/artist actually supply a bio themselves, which can then be given a minor 'tweak' and used.

As for your music - I don't see any problem at all - this sounds like out and out Prog Metal to me, and the addition should be a breeze (Prog Metal team is one of the quicker ones on here).

One of the New Suggestions team will probably pick this thread up later on today and let you know whether you have passed the first stage of the process. Thumbs Up

Nice stuff! I'll alert the team, and I've actually added them to PF now. Wink

For the benefit of dear_god (who I'm assuming is an actual member of the band), progfreak is a site which has a facility where some progarchives teams (but not all of them) maintain charts in which all the information relating to the evaluations that they carry out is collated, and made available for any interested parties to follow. You might want to periodically visit http://progfreak.com/5R6-93713.html?path=pa/recent, which is the main link to the evaluation being carried out by (currently) the Prog Metal team. You will be able to see details of all the votes that are cast, and the overall progress of the evaluation, including (in the unlikely event of you being 'moved' to another sub genre) input from any other teams that might become involved in the process, and who also use progfreak.

Usually these threads get updated when bands are cleared and finally added, so you will probably learn of your progress via this forum anyway, but if nothing appears here within a few weeks, then by all means have a look at the progfreak link for any updates.

PS. The info on your myspace page is a bit sparse. Once you are 'cleared', it might speed up the addition process if you supplied us with some more info about the band that could be used to write a biography (either send by private message to Andy Web or post it right here in this thread).

Cheers!  Thumbs Up

Thanks!

Here is more recent bio, not to exhaustive though:

5R6 is a Ukrainian progressive rock band.

Their first EP “Knots & Spirals” was released in October 2010. Musically it was highly influenced by the Seattle scene of 90’s and progressive bands such as Tool, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Mastodon etc.

In august 2012 the band released their second EP “+6.5 And Brighter”, which is more proggy and even somewhat psychedelic, it has incorporated more classic rock, 90’s post-hardcore and stoner rock influences, rather than metal. The band’s intention was to create a unique sound and solid compositions remaining within heavy rock to give food for a listener imagination making his/her limbs and head moving to the rhythm while his/her mind taking a transcendental trip to the inner and outer space.

In September 2012 5R6 went to their first European tour with Stoned Jesus, a stoner-rock band from Kiev. Currently, 5R6 is preparing to record first full-length album.

5R6 are:
Igor Zubko – vocals, guitars
Kirill Brener – guitars
Eugene Zinchenko – bass
Dmitry Zinchenko - drums

I hope this will help.

Your evaluation is going pretty well so far...Two 'yes' votes, one 'unsure', and two of the team still to vote. You should be cleared fairly soon I would think.  Smile

^ we'll use the bio you provided (albeit maybe with a bit of editing) and the bandcamp as official page (as it gives more "music") unless you advise otherwise

thanks
