Spent an enjoyable afternoon sampling everything you could possibly do with a chili pepper at West Dean Chili Fiesta in West Sussex, which by a marvel of geography, is a few miles east of us. Picked up some wonderfully smokey chipotle and a bag of annatto paste so I can at last make an authentic version of puerco pibil.

Here's an interesting "same picture, 20 years apart" thing.  This is me with my high school basketball team - first in 1987 (the year we graduated), and again in 2007 (our 20 year reunion).  I'm the tallest guy in the middle of the back row in both pictures.
