Well, it's been quite an exciting olympics I think. Best thing is, I still have various evets taped so it's like they are continuing for me.

Gymnastics. I tried to do a cartwheel once. It wasn't pretty.

Likewise. Being 6' 6'' and 18 stone with absolutely no sense of balance whatsoever, I would look ridiculous and probably break my neck. I'd also have a problem with any horse event, as you'd need a Clydesdale to get me off the ground.

MIKE RUTHERFORD ON THE OLYMPICS with some decent singer SINGING WISH YOU WERE HERE. A moment of prog history in the Olympics. And then Russell Brand... if you can't sing, use a megaphone.

Hahaha Russell Brand, the UK's version of Tiny Tim, of tiptoe thru the tulips fame! The only laughable part (Idle was funny though). The Who, the premier "back from retirement " act of all time, the farewell concert gold medalists! Oh well!

I'd second that
Not being a sporty type (All: "REALLY???") I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the Olympic coverage; not just because Great Britain had its most successful Olympics in living memory, but for the great atmosphere & sheer feel-good factor - watching international athletes at their best, being cheered on by thousands of grinning people can't help but make you smile. There will be those who don't feel the same, some of whom will post here, but this is just my take on the last 17 days.
Seb Coe, your team, the athletes, the spectators, the volunteers, the security... nice one!

Individual 10m diving.
1 - I do not have the physique to carry off wearing ridiculously small budgie smuggling noodle benders.
2 - I would look even worse wearing #1 above whilst blubbing like a girl because I'm not keen on heights... 10m?? That's 30+ feet in old money!
3 - #1 & #2 above in front of thousands of people?
Nah.

I liked Brand's brand of singing. Thought he had a good voice

Hmmm -
Since the glimpse of the pig over Battersea (virtual helicopter flypast) & the fireworks/Floyd combination on the opening ceremony, the rumours had been all over the place that one, maybe two (maybe even three...) members of Floyd would be performing on the closing night.
What did we get?
A bored Nick Mason, an even more bored looking Mike Rutherford (was he even playing that 12 string?) and what looked like a 12 year old child doing the dreariest version of WYWH in history
The Kaiser Chiefs & Muse were excellent, though

I just saw the repeat and i agree though it was nice to get some Pink Floyd it was a shame it was just Nick Mason - 'a fleeting glimpse' of PF, and Rutherford who wanted to 'take off this uniform and leave the show', and the lead singer was an oddity.
I kind of liked the attempt at reenacting the PF wywh album cover. It was kinda cool.
Muse lit up the stage well though as expected

Of course; a textbook restrained & understated performance by Matt Bellamy

Y'know... I suspected that with a lot of last nights performances. Maybe not vocally (not all the time, anyway) but certainly instrumentally a lot of the time

I'm glad the Olympics are over. I did enjoy some of the events but they have plagued my television for long enough! All of the performances last night were horrible, but this is typical from mainstream bands. All of this said, Brian May needs to just go home, but, then again, I never thought he was a particularly good player.
