They have been called "uneven" in the US as long as I can remember (about 50 years).
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

+++sigh+++

And another GB gold medal (getting boring now )

1st showjumping gold since 1952 - the home crowd certainly seems to be paying off for our athletes

Laid down for more coverage with my wife last night.  The gymnastics again.  We had a conversation about the coochies.  Bad bad bad.  We also had a good time joking about how obvious a particular guy's state of circumcision was in the track competition.  Bad bad bad. LOL

Dumbing down??? I think so!

What next?

Archery becomes the "bow and arrow" event?

Canoeing the "skinny boat in rough water" competition?

Dressage the "upper class totty on poncey prancing horse" event?

Actually, that last one is the way I refer to dressage anyway

Already gave some alternatives on Facebook.Wink

Apparently asymmetric bars was a quaint British term. Personally I think the women's event should be changed the Vertical Bar - however that may distract spectators from the Beach Volleyball.

What?

Also,

Sunday night coverage was particularly painful on NBC primetime. Gah. Not a great night for America...esp with our vaulting princess landing on her backside during her second vault. Still somehow had a chance for gold, but wound up with silver.

Group play ends soon in water polo, handball, and field hockey, and quarterfinals have already completed in beach volleyball (at least with the women...not sure on the mens side). Things are gettin' going.

Indeed. What a beast. I'm glad I can remember his run.

Probably anything other than swimming and water polo. I'm one of the most uncoordinated people I've ever seen play sports. I swam competitively for about 10 years, so if I trained hard enough and got somewhat lucky, I could have a chance there. And water polo I would definitely have the endurance for. But everything else would be a laugh fest. LOL

Also, swimming finished with another gold for Phelps. 22 medals total. Damn.

Track & field really gaining steam now. Individual apparatuses in gymnastics start tonight. Women's water polo starts elimination play today. Track cycling still going strong...second week starting well.

Hmm...if we are talking strickly looks, then water polo. Wink If we are talking doing stuff...hard call. I can't run, so any of those running events I'd be terrible in. Water polo is incredably physical, I'd probably be drowned. Whitewater kayaking may work, though I'd completely miss all the gates and probably flip over at some point. Any of the distance things (marathon, triatholon, long bike races, etc) would also go poorly.

Basically, I'm probably the furthest from anyone here from being an olympian. LOLTongueOuch

Bit of a slow day...though some very nice swimming from the US team. and sadly soccer and tennis seem like they are going to dominate coverage during the day so I'm not expecting much from tomorrow. At least track and field will start to heat up soon.

Also, congrats to Gabby Douglas on becoming the all around champion in women's gymnastics. And another gold medal for Phelps...one event to go for him.

Track and field starts tomorrow, track cycling just began, water polo tourney is turning out pretty exciting, and ditto for handball. Should be a very good second week.

^ Haha. I'm surprised they threw it so obviously. And that they thought they could get away with it.
