Indeed! Alot of great swimming races all around I think.

And of course to blow the horn of America...

Yay fab 5! Even though Russia kinda handed it to them I'm still quite glad to see them get the gold. And damn...what vaults!

Also, congrats to Mr. Phelps...the most decorated olympian ever.

They earned it; I only caught the beam and floor events, but the Americans nailed all of their routines there.  Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, and Alexandra Raiman on the floor exercise were incredible.

Congratulations to Michael Phelps for winning his 19th medal today, and his first gold as well! Clap I'm actually really enjoying the Olympics this year, I was never big on them before, but I'm really immersed in the sports that I do like - soccer, swimming, judo. Women's volleyball is pretty interesting too. Big smile

Oh absolutely! I think they would have taken it regardless of the Russian floor exercise outcome. They put quite a team together this year.

The totally unknown (to me at least) Norwegian fencer Bartosz Piasecki has reached the semifinals of the Men's Individual Epee tournament and Edvald Boasson Hagen is fourth after lap 3 of the Men's Individual Time Trial Road Cycling competition (as I'm writing this). This might just turn out to be a pretty good day at the Olympics for us NorwegiansBig smile

Bartosz Piasecki, ranked number 47 in the world, has reached the final of the Fencing Men's Individual Epee tournament and secured Norway's first ever fencing medal in the OlympicsClap That's an Olympic fairytale come true!

Can he go all the way and give Norway its first gold medal in London 2012? We'll get the answer to that question in the final later tonight.

I have this odd feeling that Mr Bradley Wiggins will be BBC Sports Personality of the Year this year.
What?

Don't enjoy them too much though, as most of those ladies would get you arrested.

You know we actually discussed that. LOL

Butt there is a difference between admiration and acting.  Besides which if I were in the position to act on impulse if the lady didn't rip off my privates completely I'm pretty sure my wife would finish it off. Tongue

I saw an article on-line that said that the Queen's granddaughter had won a silver medal, and I immediately figured that it had to be for something Equestrian.  I read the article and lo and behold I was right.  It really grinds me that that is an Olympic sport and baseball and softball are not any more.  Edit:  Although I suppose that horseriding was probably around during the original Olympics, whereas, baseball was not.

Yeah, it was probably 50/50 before the final, but it doesn't look too good for him now.
