i know they aint prog per say but they are welsh psychadelic or post psychadelic as i like to call them and there are some interesting facts you would like to know.

super furry animals use countless amounts of prog elements and tend to stay away from verse chorus songs and tend to use more proggier song structures such as changing time sigs etc.

some of their proggier songs are "focus pocus/debiel", "rescepticle for the respectable", "down a different river", "no sympathy", "ice hockey hair" and many more.

they use a very similar sound to more/ummagumma era pink floyd (especially on some of the songs on fuzzy logic, radiator and outspaced) in that it creates a very spacey outlook with organ/keyboard background with psychadelic guitar sounds cutting thru and lots of spacy prog elements. they also have similar sound quality to sixties psychadelia and standout to be amazing. they may not be prog but they are practically using all of the elements that make up prog

their latest single to accompany their new best of is very prog. a 22 minute version of their classic "the man dont give a f**k".

i severely recommend you check them out.

i thought this would be a more popular discussion. maybe SFA are only known in britain then? i dunno.

but if you study their music a lot you find so many early floyd style sounds its untrue. which is why i love em so much. and tonnes of prog elements and experimental stuff. when i first heard em i never saw any of this tho. they are underappreciated in this sense.

Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I know the Super Furries and they have never come across as Prog to me, yes they can be psychedelic but so was Kula Shaker and lots of other Britpop bands  really they are alternative rock but excellent all the same

My favourite of theirs is Sarn Helen and Demons

Don't hate me
