Why No CRACK THE SKY?

  I'm going to put in my two cents and a plea to those of you who know of the phenomenal midwest band  CRACK THE SKY and its leader JOHN PALUMBO.  They've always made quality music that thinks as it rocks and though their catalogue of songs hasn't been entirely consistent, they still have produced material of substance and lasting value.  They've been releasing art rock/prog music for nearly 30 years and they're still going strong, presently recording a new disc tentatively titled "The Sale".  Underrated, underappreciated and overlooked, they're one of the best British bands that hail from the US.

Yeah,  I hear you on the cost and rarity part...  If you go to the official Crack the Sky website, click on the "free boots" button, you'll find a trove of rarities in mp3 form there for the asking.
Among other things, CtS's impossible to find LPs "World in Motion 1"; "The End"( both from '83) and Palumbo's equally hard to find 2nd solo LP "Blowing Up Detroit" (from '84).  I kid you not, I've been looking for these 3 titles for over 20 years and... lo and behold there they were.  Talk about all things coming to he who waits!   Also, the 1981 "Photoflamingo" album (FYI: one of the first ever digitally recorded LPs and likely this one will never be released on CD) is there too.  Of the live shows available to you and worth getting, I'd reccomend the ones tagged "Baltimore 1976"; the 1999 Towson Md. unplugged show; the WNOE show from 1976 and "Dog boy At Cafe Tattoo 1997".  As for the rest of their product, Amazon.com has some themselves and has access to other sellers linked to them - some new, some used.  You gotta shop around as many sources as you can and *maybe* you'll luck out.  But stay away from GEMM... one of their vendors has a copy of "World in Motion" 1 for US $114.00.  Un-frakkin' believable!   Stay safe and good luck finding them.

Oh and btw, I've recently read  an unconfimed report that CtS have just completed a 20 minute plus track for "The Sale".  Looks like they may be taking a few steps back into prog territory and doing what they do best for this one...  Here's hoping....

Woa,that's sounds good,though I am probably too late.But then again,i would not know how to do it.In the meantime,I have now got a 'Best off' and 'Photoflamingo'.

They are a little bit all over the place (in a good way),but they are growing on me.
