Topic: Face painting rock bands Posted: June 09 2005 at 15:53 |
these are classic rock bands, I've excluded back / death metal bands because it presents non interest!
make your choice by refering to the music and the gimmick

I know he doesn't do it anymore (or at least, just in special appearences), but I casted my vote to Fish. There are still some lead singers that would go on and paint their faces like Simone Rosetti from "The Watch", the guy (don't remember his name really) from "The Musical Box, who happens to be very disturbing and grotesque since he impersonates Peter Gabriel by the number and I'm thinking the lead singer who happens to be a woman from Chilean band "Matraz".

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

there is something wrong with bands who paint their faces. I suggest it is an underlying weakness in the music that they're trying to cover up.

I think they use it just for impression and also as a marketing tool in order to advertise what they sell (music)

My vote goes to Pete Nicholls of IQ for his many costume changes/ disguises and make-up during the Subterranea set!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

After KISS got pretty popular, they stopped using the paint and whatnot and it made everyone really mad. So they've done it since.
