Pink Floyd sounds like the name for a refrigerator which someone painted pink for some reason. The name Gentle evokes an image of a guy who use to be in the gang I used to hang around with in my late teens; he was seven feet lall and had the built of a heavy weight wrestler, but would usually not have hurt a fly (unless you really provoked him). So it is a toss between King Crimson and Van der Graaf Generator. I'll go with the latter.

KingCrimson surely! And not justbecausetheyare mylong-timefavorites, but mostlybecause thatname is sonoble, symbolic,iconic...somenaggerwould sayevenpompous.
"Pink Floyd" sounds pretty. But I don't care about some old Blues men, I actually don't like the Blues (with a few exceptions).
"Van der Graaf Generator"? Too long and little pretentious name, apparentlyit's assumed thatyou are a bitfamiliar withphysics.
"Gentle Giant" is a genialideausing the twoG's, the nameevokessomething very big,but alsofriendly andgracious.Just liketheir music.
"Tangerine Dream"? It sounds also pretty, buthonestly,it seems likea joke.Whoeverhad a dreamabouttangerine?Perhaps on thetrip. And maybe it's about...

From this list I chose King Crimson. I mean, the name just sounds awesome. VdGG gets second place. I have always loved "Zappa" as well. Zappa just sounds so cool, and it's just a last name.
