well.... I can't figure out how to move an album I just added to I-tunes to my Ipod. So if anyone knows how to put an entire album onto the ipod without syncing the whole thing please let me know.

I figured it out once a while ago but I can't figure it out now. I do NOT listen to individual songs. it's pretty much always albums. I've tried a few ipod managers and none of them have an easy way to move an entire album onto the ipod without a whole sync. I'm sure its the newest generations propensity for single song downloads that makes designers not worry about what I want. the ones I found that do this bury the commnd in a sub menu or something. I have never liked Itunes. Aside from being flaky early on (remember it used to randomly double the first song on an album) the interface is not nearly as intuitive as the ipod itself which has a beeyootiful interface. I figured someone here might know a good program for dealing with whole albums. Also the ability to move an album from the ipod to the computer would be great.

So what programs do you know that allow easy manipulation of whole albums to and from the ipod? thanks.

I use iTunes. Yes, you do have to sync it, but if you have only added one album, it only adds the new files. You just have to check under the music tab of your device which files are synced.

To get files off of your iDevice (including music), I believe you can use iExplorer.

As always, for Apple products, the only winning move is not to play.

You have to set your device for manually manage music. Then you can just drag whatever you want into the device.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

That's what I do.  That essential detail has saved me a lot of trouble.

This. I recommend getting a smartphone and using Subsonic to stream from your PC to your phone. Best way to do it for a person with a MASSIVE MP3 collection...

Manual management, drag and drop. Excellent. I'll go try right now, thanks.

The ONLY use I have for an mp3 is in the car. Apples easy interface makes it a perfect on the road player. I'm sure others may be just as good but the only way to be better would be voice activation and I do not like mp3's well enough to drop any more cash on that kinda tech.

It's too bad I can't take my computer with me everywhere or leave it on to stream all the time on my phone.

iPod solves those problems that others may not have.

I have an ipod myself (but the old original classic kind), and i dont use Itunes to do it, i found it too complicated.   I find the programme Copy Trans Control Centre, where the sub programme Copy Trans Manager is free, more easier to use.   And it works on windows 7 aswell.

I wouldn't sync it with itunes. It will sync every time you plug it into the computer and it takes forever and its just a pain. or it will erase all of your music... I can't count how many people I know that has happened to.
