When I was 14, it was MEtallica. LOL. I still think they're cool, but St. Anger was bs, and Death Magnetic was only a little better.
Nowadays, my prog side says Rush can do no wrong. My metal side says In Flames can do no wrong. I love that band.
A LONG TIME ago, Moody Blues could do no wrong....same with pink floyd...but those to greats DO have their respective duds....

I'd say Mastodon fits the bill quite nicely, not a bad album yet (maybe Remission slightly weaker than the others, but still not bad).
Tool can do no wrong either in my ears. Contrary to popular opinion here, Lateralus is my least favourite album of theirs but it's a good album nonetheless.

With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D. and you still have the frog you started with.

For me, King Crimson is the all-time best, I almost love all the tracks produced by "Gabriel-era Genesis" The next one may be, Pink Floyd. ;)

I really don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this. GG's 4 last albums have all got some good songs IMO, but in no way were they not a disapointment in comparison to their first 7.

Very hard to do in my book (especially if you make more than three albums). I can't think of a single prolific band that never disappointed me with a release. I'll say this: Genesis from Trespass through Duke was an amazing run (and I could even be talked into extending it all the way to Invisible Touch). But the first and last albums are pretty bad, and We Can't Dance was just OK. Another one that comes close for me is echolyn.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They only have three albums that were released 10 years ago, but man, are they ever good.

I would definitely have to say Beardfish for this one. They're so consistent, every album is great.

oh yeah. I do love everything by In Flames. I may not get much love for that here, but there it is. oh, and Moody Blues...still LOVE everything they do. jeez, worst thought-out post by me ever. It must be that Trio Medieval i'm listening to.

Porcupine Tree
The Mars Volta
Mahavishnu Orchestra
I would say King Crimson, but I hate Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair.
Magma is close as well.
