Hi awaken77,

After listening I do think that was a home grown track made for the movie by a local guy.  The tenor sounds like
Jean Michel Jarre, but it is certainly not.  Soviets were very crafty dedicated people.  I think if you ever find out... the
answer will be:

Some 2nd year music major Soviet student who was hired to score the film.

Cheers!

Since the post wasn't answered with a succescfull answer, i'd like to ask if any of you guys know that song:

 http://soundcloud.com/ashriel/i-need-help-with-this

I'm looking for an answer for months, not to say years of a burning need to know. That part of the song makes me want to dive into that song.  But please ignore the end of the clip, it was my fault, i screwed the final part. hehe. From now, thanks to y'all.

I do not know. Have you tried getting the chord nomenclature from the music and then Google the chords? If that's not a lot of help, add the names of the instruments as the keywords.

I have no clue, but here's a shoot in a dark: home many Russian electronic artists are/were doing such music? Perhaps Artemiev?

On the other hand, I presume you're a Russian speaker.

The author of the music is not listed, but perhaps you can ask on forums or find it on some Russian movie database? There's name of the director and the movie studio.

It's Kitaro.

EDIT: Mostly off a Silk Road album, as I recall.  I love Kitaro's Silk Roads 1,2,3, and 4, plus Oasis and others.  Kitaro was my fave for a long time before getting into Prog.  I'm sorry that I didn't see this topic earlier since I instantly recognised music from that vid.

There you go. Not a Russian dude the composer was, perchance.

Please help me identify this one:

I heard this a few times in Macy's while working there during the Christmas season. I like the tune; it's really catchy.
