Kansas lost last night.  Somebody keep the sharp objects away from Tanner.  I assume that horsewithteeth is showing his teeth in a big smile today though.  (Unless he is a Louisville fan.)

Well I'm not a Louisville fan really (which is odd since I went to Louisville for a year), but my brother goes to UK so I do feel some obligation to root for them. Or at least be happy with them winning. He wasn't involved in any of the rioting last night, but he did send me some pictures. And he doesn't have class today because of it (the lucky punk Angry).

But yeah, it is good to see that championship return to the Commonwealth again.

The first 2 days of the tournament, I got 28 out of the first 32 games. And then I lost one of my Final 4 teams in Florida State, but as a Cincinnati fan I had mixed feelings about that, and the rest of my bracket was pretty shot up.

My brother and grandpa were in one of the same pools as me, and my brother ended up finishing second, so he won $277. Thumbs Up

When I went to bed on the first night I was 12 - 0.  It was all downhill from there.  I ended up 14 - 2 and on day 2 I went  8-8, and lost Missouri from my Final 4.  When Vanderbilt lost, I lost my 2nd Final 4 team and any hope of winning the pool I was in.

I didn't have Mizzou or Duke getting past the Sweet 16, so those 2 didn't hurt me much. I was still in it even after Florida State lost, but I had UNC as my championship team beating UK in the final game, and when they lost it was over for me. Not to mention I got 13 of my Sweet 16 teams, but only 4 of my Elite 8. This year was not a good year for my brackets.

I almost bought that record this weekend, then I bought a record I'd never heard of instead. Turns out it was post-rock.

Is that a good or bad thing?

That he's pimping Smashing Pumpkins on you? Probably good given your recent '90s mood.

That it was post-rock? No idea if it's better than Adore, but I have enjoyed the post-rock album. Also, it has beautiful art. So I would say yes.

I'm not hating, but do you notice that the worse things get in our country, the more people just want to watch sports? Ever since 2008, football and basketball has turned into a ridiculous fervor.

Sports have always been used to keep the "plebeians" happy when things were politically sour, since Roman times and before.

I should listen to more Smashing Pumpkins Ouch

Though I barely have an interest in their albums without James Iha. That man plays guitar in a cool way.

Although it's worth noting they have been effective because they are a distraction, and these days we also have music, television, movies, video games, and the internet to accomplish roughly the same thing. (So politicians have never had it so easy, I suppose, we're all too distracted to know what's going on)

The internet also fuels a lot of underground politics tho, like the Ron Paul Revolution and Occupy Wall Street.
