Has anyone else here played Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together? I've been playing the PSP remake, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Yasumi Matsuno (Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII).
Sadly, I'm not impressed by a lot of current games, but apparently remakes of old games are good enough for me.

Uncharted 3 complete.
Aw yeah, what a great series it's been. Wonder if it'll continue, I semi expected (and hoped) for a real wrap up ending...maybe even callin it quits :O but knew deep down it wouldn't be that straightforward. Now to try out this new (old) Gamecube I got. It's rainy and I'm saving $ to drink tomorrow so why not? |

Tribes Ascend is in open beta. Free-to-play game which is basically a modern update to the old (Starsiege) Tribes games. Mechanics are solid, skiing feels right, and there are a several versions of the Spinfuzor this time around. Heavies are a bit too strong, though, since they aren't quite as cumbersome as once they were. Still, recommended to anyone who loved the old Tribes games or any fan of shooters in general. Hell, it's free, so the worst you can do is waste time downloading it.

I have a few friends that have been playing beta of that for months, just based on the hours they've put in I'd say it's probably pretty good

It's Tribes. Barely a nudge to the formula. Though I must admit, they pushed a bit too hard on the business side. I've played a few hours thus far, and have about 11,000 EXP. Single unlocks cost up to 100,000 EXP. To unlock one gun, it make take you 30-50 hours of playtime... or about $2.50 if you spend real cash. |

So I hear the latest Skyrim patch really fixed alot of the issues big time.
Soooo that whole "It can't be fixed" since it's "just an inherent issue with the PS3" and etc etc ... Oh Bethesda, you lazy b*****ds. I didn't wanna believe they were so lazy/biased they just didn't port the 360 version to PS3, and didn't bother testing the game, butttttttt |

Big PC Gamer here, feel free to add me on steam-
Fairly recently finished finished the first 2 Mass Effect games and loved, can't wait until the third. Lately I've just been playing this racing game called Fuel. It's pretty fun and exploring the huge map is a blast.

Well, in most cases I'd say "gah 3 is good. Gotta stop there. Gunna blow it now" but I'll leave faith in them and patiently wait. A break wouldn't be bad anyway. Tool method: have us forget for a bit. In the meantime, got all plethora of older games also: Anyone play Warhawk? Was a cool online game, and extremely well balanced, perhaps the most balanced game I played. The beta for Starhawk is out and was pretty insane. |

I've started replaying Mass Effect again after a short hiatus. Dave my mate is playing Mass Effect 3. I saw a brief glimpse of it (he's playing it on XBox). Graphically it didn't look much better. Odd. I guess the PC version looks much better?
I also found out yesterday I had a beta test request for Knights of the Republic but it's too late now, obviously. |

ME3 was made for the 6.5-year-old 360 hardware, so no, it doesn't look better. Faces look worse than ME2, actually, and textures are still bad. That said, the game does give you a little more real estate than ME2 did, and overall doesn't look too bad. Animations are really awkward for some reason, though. Working through ME3 myself. Will let you know how that goes. |

They've changed a few things though, I gather? My mate was saying they've changed some of the facial textures?
I have a feeling you'll have one major complaint to make (that many others have made as well) but I won't say anything for now. How do choices from your previous saves get handled? |

I knew the ending was awful before I started. Hell, I knew before the game even came out. Everyone should be told how bad it is beforehand; it may lessen the blow. Seen comics and editorials galore about how bad it is. Also lots of articles about how poorly BioWare handled the Day-One DLC business.
For a few of them, quests just never show up at all. For most, though, there are just stand-ins for people who are dead, and you end up with a sub-optimal outcome in ME3 because of it. I could go into details, but that would be pretty filled with spoilers. |

Heh, I watched it last night after I saw everyone complaining (I haven't played ME2 or 3, but I was really into ME at the time), and I was stunned by how, for once, the internet was not overreacting. It really is that bad. The theory about it being in Shepard's mind based on the extra clip from one of the endings would help a little (although that intent is somewhat contradicted by the additional clip with the stargazers), but I still now have no desire to ever play them.
A writer for Bioware frequently posts on the Penny Arcade forums, and he (reading between the lines a little bit) is basically claiming that the ending was hijacked by the Lead Writer and a minority of people there who actually like the ending because they can get into the "mindset". He does not care for it. So, it kind of sucks that people are kind of ignoring all of his hard work to rage...Or maybe he just doesn't want to try to defend it, who knows. A little while after ME1 was released he repeatedly apologized for writing the abortion side quest in the Citadel.

My mate Dave enjoyed the ending... he has also read that the ending could be Shephard being indoctrinated rather than being dead (and not just due to that scene post-credits where his/her hand is seen moving).
Besides, Shephard dies in ME2 as well, I believe? Hahaha, yeah, that abortion side quest was the most pointless side quest ever. |
