Hi I am Olivier, I sing for Scottish Prog Metal band Abandoned Stars.
I enjoy discovering new bands but also older bands.

I started appreciating prog through prog and power Metal really (Kamelot,Stratovarius,Rhapsody,DT,Pagan's Mind, Time Requiem, SymphonyX)  but then I discovered that the guys I was listening to were influenced by the mighty Rush/Yes/Genesis/Deep Purple etc.......so I started getting into that.

I am enjoying what some people call  'neo prog'  as well with bands like Frost* , Karnivool, Pain of Salvation etc....
I have recently discovered the 'Djent' movement and went to see Periphery and Tesseract....some good stuff in there too!!

On a personal note what can I say..........I am French and I have been living in Scotland for 8 years...I am losing my tan
a little more each day :-) But the Scots are just amazing.....they are like the mediterranean of the North, always up for a laugh!

Looking forward to meeting new people here and discover new sound from everywhere!Star

So you are into Speyside?Have you tried any Glenfarclas? Nae bad as they say here....I have got a decent bottle of 20 yearsold Talisker  which is waiting for the week end :-)

Cheers!

Anyway, I love Talisker old bottle ... smokey, spicy, ground-smelled ... very great one.
Oh, Glenfarclas is good too.

EDIT: Oh very sorry you've been added in our library already.

I will return when a fish supper costs less than $15 (Australian) and /or Alex Salmond joins a political party worthy of his talents

You could get the new Easter delicacy for that price: Deep Fried Creme Egg !!!! (it deserves Capital Letters)
Tempted?  For Salmond, I see what you mean....He has the charisma and eloquence to do great things but as a French guy I find it hard to comment on this issue....it is really divided but it looks like we are definitely getting a referendum for an Independent Scotland!

Welcome to the site!

And...........Alex Salmond is just about the most consummate politician in the UK. If only my lot, Plaid Cymru, had a Welsh version.
