I'm a bit confused here. Is that no to the statement "born before 1860" or simply "no, he was born before 1860"?

And let's see...not an entertainer, not a scientist, not a politician, not an author. He was born British (but not Scottish), but is famous for his involvement in a major historical event in America, where he lived until his timely or untimely death in a leap year.

*sigh*

It shouldn't be this tough to crack.

Was the historical event of a violent nature?

Oh hold on... I have conflicting dates due to the calender.  He may or may not have died on a leap year.

No, not violent.  Although unfortunately deaths did occur but there was not any form of conflict.

Apologies for the delay!

I'm still not sure whether he died in a leap year as it says he died in 1643 or 1644.

And yes, he has a ridiculous amount of notable descendants.

Oh and yes, he could have been 76 at death.  Nobody is sure when he was born and as I said above, he died in 1643/44.
