Don't worry, after I get my tenth I'll stop. Also, I've only gotten it once, but the Bible insta-kills Mom/Mom's Heart (and maybe later bosses? Idunno). |

Yes, I knew that, but I've never found it, and no, you will be instantly killed if you use the Bible on Satan, which is less funny in a game without saves. And my problem is rarely with the bosses, it's slowly draining all my health on the rooms leading up to the bosses.

So finally picked up Resident Evil 5 today! $16
Just like RE:4 wanted to wait until it was nice and cheap and play it later (its how I roll with games) but I forgot about this one |

I enjoyed RE:5 I played it Co-Op with another fan of the game, honestly that's the only way the play the game. The final boss is annoying as hell, but i won't spoil it for you. The fourth one was really, really good too.

I love little in-game touches - simple James Bond conversations, leeches in the swamp water, the entire The End conflict, a fake death pill you can utilize at any time, etc. Right now I just finished defeating The Fury and experiencing the torture sequence.
I played through Resident Evil 5 a few months ago. It was fun, but seemed little more than RE4 + co-op (without the intriguing atmosphere). I can't rationally explain why I love 4 and only like 5 other than that it seemed like a less important game. The controls were the same, the plot was similar (i.e - a meandering waste of CGI), and the enemies had practically the same function, but everything seemed cheaper. The environments seemed less adaptive to the overall gameplay. Still a lot of fun for 16$, though. I have absolutely no idea why I prefer one over the other. Someone help me explain.

As long as you think both are good, then you're fine.
I liked the swamp scenes a lot in RE5.

I loved RE: 4 may have been my favorite one.
I was a little worried that in 4 they upped the zombie skills and heard they did even more so, but supposedly your team mate is very good (since I will be going solo). I'm expecting it to be pretty good. I heard that yeah 5 was just good and not as "wow" as 4 but tough to match brilliance. Also on the topic of, very, old games I never played....lost planet! It's rare I get a game and play it quick, usually at least a year |

Honestly, I the game is not all that great without a partner. Sheba will burn through your ammo and incessantly get knocked down by regular zombies and other stupid crap. She never fires for the head, ever. And environmental hazards... lawd. |

Yeah. The game is pretty fun with a partner, too, especially when you get maxed weapons and infinite ammo and put it on professional. Dem zombies does not screw around. |

I finally got up to the last boss (Arch Demon) in DA: Origins although my game has gone retarded. Unless I constantly change between characters and tell them to use powers, they're all attacking with only fists so I get lol 4 damage. And even if I do keep them busy, they tend to stand there and do nothing unless I move them around then set the same commands.
Horribly frustrating. Game has been pretty awesome this far though. + I still have all the DLC and the expansion to work through. Also, enemy mages of any kind are OP as all hell (especially the darkspawn Emissaries) and placing several of them at the end of a hall then spamming low level units between you and them is not good level design and it's not difficult, it's just f**king lame.

^I'm playing the PS3 version, mods/community patches are out of my reach
Also, uninstalling and reinstalling the game to the PS3 HDD seems to have fixed it. Just killed the dragon. Kinda disappointing for a final battle.

I'm fairly sure the difficulty was nerfed on PS3.

Yeah, the console versions basically play like a hack and slash with one button. I wish they had a similar system to KOTOR's combat, which lets you have a basically identical amount of tactical control thanks to the UI as the PC version did. I was playing on hard though, and also probably wasted about half of my talent points in the early game when I couldn't decide how to play. Some areas were ridiculously difficult, that being said.

DA2 for me has been pretty easy so far... quite a different game though in terms of combat.
Which origin did you go for? It's worth at least playing all of them just to see the backstories. |

Elf in the alienage. I was really impressed with how they handled that, actually. I thought it was going to be an introduction and nothing more; it was cool that they continued with it and had quite a few quests relating to it later in the game.
I clocked 39h46m on this playthrough, and plan to put a few more into the main quest with other characters to say the least. After this I'll probably do some of the DLC though. How is DA2? I've really heard nothing but bad about it, in all honesty.

I actually don't mind DA2. I can see why people dislike it though.
Lot's of reused textures though. Edited by James - February 01 2012 at 18:00 |

This past month has been hectic gaming-wise for me. In the past month, I've played through Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Gears Of War 3 and now I'm starting Assassin's Creed: Revelations. I'll need to be done with this game by the beginning of March to make room for Mass Effect 3.
