Apart from the pornography?

And I shall try Terraria soon.  I'm determined to try and at least finish Mass Effect first.  I've not played it in about a week.

YES. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. Warband is basically the same game with a few refinements + a new race/civilisation to play as.

The game is pretty bare bones in many ways but that's part of the charm. The req specs are also super low which is a bonus so the game runs like butter on my sh*tty laptop. I've poured >100 hours into the vanilla version on a copy which a friend gave me (in not the most legal fashion) and another 50 or so into some of the mods, many of which are amazing.

It has a pretty steep learning curve, but it's an amazing game.

I'd like a free copy of Terraria.

My mate didn't like it though, hence why he gave it to me.  Plus I think I read somewhere it was full of bugs.

They do a deal where you can buy 5 copies and I know Joel sent me one but I don't know if that was a single download or the 5 copies one.

I'd buy it for you if it was still 2.50$ I just bought the single copy.

Yeah, it was like £1.35 yesterday... I could have afforded that but Joel had already sent me a copy.  Oops.

Biggest addition to Warband was the ability to set up your own kingdom. I fought the entire world to a standstill in the original, but because I couldn't set up my own kingdom, I ultimately had to face every army in the world at one time and just couldn't manage that.

Yeah, in all the hours I've put into that game I've never gotten to a point at which I've been able to actually build my own empire up without being crushed. Gamemako, have you played Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword? It looks pretty good although I haven't tried it yet.

I haven't played anything past the original. I'd imagine that I'd have dominated the landscape if I could have vassals, but as it stood, I was one army (of all Sword Sisters Wink ) against the rest of the world.

Is it possible to get Warband as an add-on to the original or is it a whole new game?

It's a seperate game. 'Stand alone expansion' is the term devs/publishers usually opt for.

Damn.  That means I'd have to buy it separately then.

I was given this for free, it's just a shame it's not Warband.

I may give it a go at some point... maybe when I update this machine.

Well, that was quick.

I quit Terraria. I fell into a big hole and lost all my stuff, and it's pretty much impossible to get it all back.

Place a bunch of wood platforms; you can fall through them but only if you click down. Can jump back through them. Perfect for mining.

Also, I'm playing on Softcore, so I only drop coins when I die (not that I've found a use for coins anyway yet).

I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more, discovering a whole lot of awesome stuff down in the depths now.

No, no, that's not the problem. I have no equipment and have to fight my way through corrupted areas.

Corrupted areas are easy if you bring a friend.  Actually, a lot of my playing has been with 2 friends, that was when we are spelunking one person can scout ahead (he uses a lucky horseshoe and a grappling hook) while the other two build scaffolding/kill eaters.  If there is nothing worthwhile down, it's pretty simple to take down the platforms and block over the hole.

Hmmmm, my copy of Warband seems to be mad at me; it's CTDing every time I try to enter a city or town for anything.

Recalling back to why my mate gave me the original Mount & Blade, it occurs to me it was because it wouldn't work on his PC.
