The 80s could have been extended I agree but once I got to the 90s and collated another 300 albums or so it was impossible to include more that what is on the list. 1001 albums seems like a lot until you end up with a list of over 2500. I had to cull that down and it was brutal leaving out a lot of Zappa and Jazz fusion in particular. The late 70s albums certainly were considered as omissions but they were better I believe than the 80s which is always signified as the poorer decade of the progressive music genre. |

I will take those albums into consideration but I could not include all the great Can albums or White Noise. Astra will get in especially The Weirding, and I am not sure about AMT or Ellis but will re check list. Thanks!

Might as well stop, everything after -89 is garbage and just a rehash of old ideas. How tiresome.

^ I was waiting for that. Still, it is what it is and the 90s was a decade of some excellent masterful prog. |

Hey, nice idea. I like the original 1001 Albums book (and the 1001 Books, although I disagree with the list there). Good to make a prog version. You're already at 3/4, I see. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words! So far it has been relatively easy but I just hit a major snag and have too many to add from the 2000-2011 selection - dang it! What a great problem to have. Now I am in the process of culling off so many great albums - oh well, it will still be a terrific list to work from I believe. Actually I just realised it will work if I leave out 2011 totally. I wonder if that's a good idea though....
