yeah i notice some spacy rock themes like minimalistic parts and spacy sections but they also have heavy guitars like really heavy shred guitar and almoust metal in parts

Well, I've heard a lot of bands that are considered psych that I would consider heavy prog. I'm no expert on either genre though.

I'm still kind of sad I didn't get picked for that prog electronic team position :(

Beardfish, The Tangent, but I think you know those bands already.

Elton John has a couple of 70s albums that are very much prog, and of course are keyboard-led.
