Hard one. It's like comparing two unlike things.

Oranges smell like vomit - I have banned people from eating them in my office - if they want an orange they can go outside and stand in the freezing cold and the rain and they cannot bring the peel back in with them, that has to be disposed of in the bin outside - some people think I'm joking or just making a symbolic point because I'm a smoker  - it's not, I really cannot stand the smell.
What?

That's weird. LOL  How about other citrus fruit?

I love the smell of oranges.  Not a big fan of raw apples though.  I think it's a textural thing.

All oranges are not made equal though.  The flesh has to be tender and the juice tangy and the skin easy to peel.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I love both, but only when the apple is of the Granny Smith variety.  Otherwise the citrus will always prevail!

The only to two fruits I like, but I usually like then green apples, whilst less picky with oranges.

EDIT: oh, just like Kevin, I guess, though it could be Papirovka apples.

Well, the poll has been done before and before and before Smile , but I will answer though: apples are more proggish, with all the different shades and colours. Oranges are just one colour, more like hit parade music so to say.

No other fruit can match a really good orange. Here on Rhodes we have a variety called Merlin, and it tastes like … magic!

I can enjoy apples, too, but often I prefer them with a little cinnamon. I use both fruits in cooking; oranges mainly with chicken (citrus fruits make the meat juicier) and apples mainly with pork.

Oh dear. I really should have checked I just didn't recall a poll like this. Sorry all.

BTW. Oranges are more than one colour. There are green skinned oranges too.

Apples, for it is the fruit of sin.

At least, that's what I believe.

You are quite an interesting fellow. What more shall we learn i wonder.Tongue
Like this you mean:

I only like raw apples that are eaten within a few minutes of being picked - for me the flavour rapidly deteriorates within 20 minutes of being picked - this probably has something to do with ethylene production in the ripening process and oxidation but I'm too lazy to look it up. If you have an apple tree in your garden this is an easy experiment to try - in autumn pick several apples at the same time and eat them at fixed periodic intervals - the taste changes dramatically. One exception to that is Russet apples - which I can only eat if they have been stored for several months until they become soft with wrinkled skins (but before the go bad) - again I suspect that the same "deterioration" process is involved here, but in this one case the outcome is subjectively better. Cooked apples are fine, but that most likely to do with the amount of sugar, butter, cinnamon and other sweet spices I use when cooking them.

I'm pretty sure I would not detect a change in taste and how does your wife cope with these foibles?

I like oranges more, though I like pretty much all citrus fruit more than oranges.

I didn't vote though because they're even right now.

You'll never know unless you try the experiment - if you can tell a difference in the taste of different varieties of apple you should be able to detect a change in the flavour of freshly picked apple over one of the same variety that has been stored. I don't have a particularily decerning palate and can easily notice the change. My foibles are what makes me me - like I can't stand pears but love pear cider and perry yet don't like apple cider much (I can drink it but prefer not to) - my wife hates both because (to her) they smell like vomit.

Oranges taste fine, and orange juice is a great smell, as is the zest - which only leaves the pith so I guess that's the bit that smells like puke to me, (then maybe I'm just taking the pith).
