Protip: if you have a couple thousand gold, but tons of leather and refined iron and make a ton of iron daggers to level up your smithing skill relatively fast. Plus you can sell them back. I just got the ability to make glass armor, and probably by the time I'm finished making it all I can make ebony armor. So sexy.

I'm still absolutely loving the game, it just sucks not to be able to play it. I mean I can start a new character, but I don't buy Elder Scrolls games to put in 20 hours, I buy them to put in 200 In other Skyrim news, a friend of mine has no sound after patching (also PS3) so I don't even know how they managed to stuff so much stuff up. Pete Hines said 'on the list for the update is improved performance for long-term play on the PS3' so that could help. At the time same time I find it hard to trust anything Bethesda (especially their PR/Marketing manager) says about basically anything. |

I'm working on a full set of dragon armor now that it stands. I've got 6,000 gold saved up and am running full Legendary Orcish (legendary Glass Mace). I'm level 27 and have just finally killed my first Dragon Priest.
I've put in 35 hours and have just now finished the major aspect of the Companions guild - no thieves guild, magic college, bard college, dark brotherhood OR imperial/stormcloak factions yet. I haven't bought a house or gotten married or laid siege, yet. I haven't gotten any Daedric equipment or even half the shouts. I've put 35 hours in and have so much to do. And STILL no major bugs or game issues.

Almost no problems so far on 360. Your argument is invalid. Thought it is obvious PC Elder Scrolls can be made much better than when they ship, 360 Skyrim is insanely more enjoyable and less obviously console-inferior than Oblivion and Morrowind.

I just started a new character after having beaten the main quest line - this time it's a mage. The dual-wielding spell function is great, especially in how it forces you to use it in lieu of a weapon/shield. It makes it seem more engaging.

lolololol yeah yeah cliche PC is best comment. It's a massive open ended game, there will be issues. If you have major ones that sucks, but the game is fine. I've not had a single real issue on PS3 and no one I know/talked to has at all. Honestly, my brother seems to have more problems with it on PC....crashes not all the time, but more often then seems right and has seen crazier glitches/bugs than I. Had to reload a mission because this one necessary guy wouldn't go to the right place, just kept walking this loop between 2 random places. Admittedly, PC does have mods so if you wanna cheat or do cool things there is always that option. Only a few I knew personally did those however, most just got the "women can be stripped fully naked" mod though! Edited by JJLehto - November 20 2011 at 02:17 |

....did you just play straight the main quest of an Elder Scrolls game and restart? This isn't Halo or CoD you're supposed to do everything there is and log like 300 hours mang! But seriously son, I have near 35 hours and have done maybe 2 things on the main quest line thus far. Oh man, my old roomie got drunk in skyrim, passed out and supposedly was fondling statues or something, and my bro found herbs in the game that made him trip balls. Where is this!? IGN is running a poll for PS3 Skyrim players, will be interesting to see how this turns out. I suspect equal amounts of fanboy denial and exaguration from the IGN community to produce an incredibly uneven poll, but at least the bigger names in gaming journalism are hearing/reporting. Just also tried to launch Skyrim 2 or 3 times and got stuck at 3% for Loading Trophies... a reboot fixed it but it's another bug I've never had from any other games which really shouldn't be in a title which is on shelves already. Edited because I remembered over-exagurated wasn't a word :((((( Edited by progkidjoel - November 21 2011 at 06:51 |

Actually, I was taking hides and turning them into leather helmets. Profitable and efficient. The problem, of course, is that the number of hides you can purchase is quite limited.
Go to the inn in Falkreath. There's a guy in a black robe who will suggest a drinking game. This is how awesome nights begin. Not sure about the herbs.
It's more Elder Scrolls. If you like TES4, you'll certainly like TES5. It's more polished, sure, but I wish they had done more to improve the core game instead of just layering the paint. I spent like 300 hours in Cyrodil, and while there's lots to do in Skyrim, I feel that I'd be a lot more enthusiastic if something more than the scenery had changed. |

You know my feelings on TES4, so I'm not sure if I'll like TES5.

I think it is a lot like Oblivion, just better in every way. I don't really get the fuss...

I got Skyrim today. I'm thinking of going Dark Elf because magic and stealthy combat sounds appealing this game. Maybe destruction spell in one hand and dagger/1 handed sword in the other? Is this a good route to go?

Actually I found him, in Dawnstar (not sure why I was even in that hell hole) apparently he's randomly generated. Gotta agree with Stonie, it's pretty much Oblivion but improved in every way. It's great. My only beef with James is knowing he hated Oblivion so much why even bother with Skyrim? Just leave it be and quit bugging us Up to 36 hours now, still no issues. Occasional pause or bad lag, but goes away in a few seconds. Not even any crazy glitches yet. Game itself is great. |

My argument is invalid because the worst console around has fewer bugs? OK. I was mainly referring to the hideousness of besthesda games anyway Edited by Triceratopsoil - November 21 2011 at 19:01 |
