Swear Censors... Really necessary?

I was just thinking about that myself.  Whatever happened to that idea?  I suggest using Evolver's Spock for the f word.  "Spock you", "Go Spock yourself", "God, I need to get Spocked tonight", "Spocking A", etc.

That's sort-of the whole point - those replacement words get old very quickly, but so do the words they replace. While through overuse we are inured to hearing swearing most of the time in our daily lives to the extend that we neither hear it or even notice we are using it, its constant repetition in print is just tiresome on the eyes.

That's pretty much another way of saying that it's pointless. So, why can't it just be done away with?

Another thing/slightly off topic:  

It is inpolite, slightly childish and barbaric to swear. You will sink quite low in most people's estimation if you swear. The English language also have enough words to play around with. Swearing is not necessary. 

I ran a swearbox in my office for a while. Though I got a nice letter from the local cancer charity, thanking me for the donation, it was quite a painful excersise which cut down my swearing quite considerable. My profanities are now the likes of holy squirrel and other animal replacement of swear words. Although bad habits is difficult to quit and I sometimes fall into old habits. Try quit smoking. Try quit swearing. Try stop snoring at work.... although the latter one is beyond the mankind.

Censorship ? I would recommend people quit swearing everywhere in life. I would appeal to the good in everybody.

Holy Squirrel is probably the most offensive thing I've seen in print to date (I'm 49 and work in the debt collection industry) and it's on the next level of hell just below those who say frikkin' I'm not condoning swearing but one of the most prevalent urban myths that still circulates today is that those who swear  simply cannot articulate their ideas. This is unadulterated bollocks complete tosh coined by denim shirted liberals we all had to endure as schoolteachers during the 70's. I have a huge vocabulary and swear all the time and the principle reason is best summed up by one Billy Connelly: F*ck Off works while Shoo, go away doesn't

I hate to hear c*** under any circumstances and anyone who says it in my company gets a telling.
