Actually, ADTOE cover is plagiarising a similar Circus Maximus cover,
which features almost the same guy riding his monocycle.

Just google search Circus Maximus covers and you'll find that.

I don't see how they look the same other than the fact that they both feature a guy on a unicycle, and that would be like saying that Haken's Aquarius album looks the same as Dream Theater's Falling Into Infinity album because they both feature water.

Well, since every Prog Metal band seemingly ripps off Dream Theater, I'll let DT slide this copying just onceLOL

I knew about Supertramp influence but this Circus Maximus cover is really.... bad. And it's a bad thing to copy a bad thing :D I'm not disappointed in DT (because of how good this album is and because they probably trusted their artist). But Hugh Syme, man, he has done so much better.

Thanks for proving my point........and I did say it looks similar to the concert intro video for Bridges In the Sky.....Clown/unicycle in a desert landscape.....

i for some reason think the Supertramp cover is good couse it depicts the situation in the band at the time (like it was in DT during the recording of the Dramatic album ) an internal conflict resulting in a split of the band. one founding member of the band say goodbye Rogers last album with RIck and Portnoys final departure from the band he founded with his friends, so Supertramp is the original in that department and DT looked for an album which symboliced a split of a band and ...Famous Last Words is the  departure album of all departure albums,

Yeah, the problem is not that they "borrowed" the clown in a yellow shirt and hat on a unicycle, the problem is that both covers are atrocious and I don't know how they ever got out the door. I think the only way DT can prevent the "I just registered my copy of Photoshop CS5!" style of cover design is by taking their copy of Photoshop away from them.

That's got to be the same clip art on both album covers.  I don't really care much, though.

That pretty much says it.

I doubt DT consciously copied them though.  It's more likely the unicycle guy came from the bin of stock-photos for awful covers and neither band designed the actual guy themselves.

the Circus Maximus cover could be more accidental since it is a very new band and probably not so famous (not even in Norway where they mostly are unkown to others then fans of those who are fans of Pagans Mind and similar bands) but Supertramps - Famous last words are over 30 years old and a very famous breakup album. both the title and the cover pictures the departure of Roger Hodgson (the one of two founding members of the band). I am a fan of Dream Theater so im not holding this against the band but i can see similaritys both in title (even if subconsious, it is a looming title of the event the band have went through) and cover art.....
