Marillion- Lavender. Kayleigh is at least an OK 80s pop song (just OK)- but my god Lavender should be put in a ditch with 500 tons of C4. "I was walking in the park/ dreaming of a spark" Dead

Camel- Freefall. Probably one of the most overrated songs in prog. Truly disgustingly dreadful.

Battle of the Epping Forest isn't great by any means but not bad. SEBTP is a 3 star album in my opinion in general.

The Power and the Glory- GG. I love the album, but the title track shouldn't exist.

It's a bonus track, not on my LP or CD copy. Plus the band hated it. I totally agree though, it's awful
I'm so mad that you enjoy a certain combination of noises that I don't

Oh wow really??? Ahh that's actually quite the relief now I can skip it without ruining the "album experience"

I don't think it's awful, certainly not Giant's nadir, but it does feel very out of place if you treat it as an album track, especially coming straight after "Valedictory" which is a textbook example of how to wrap up an album. Here's a brilliant quote from Ray Shulman regarding the making of the single:

Originally posted by Ray Shulman Ray Shulman wrote:

"WWA said, 'Now boys, you've got to be commercial, you've gotta make singles. Now you run away and write us a single.' So we did three atrocious numbers. This song's the worst--'You've got it lads!'--and we went into the studio and handed over the tapes when we came out. They put it out, we yelled at them, and they gave it back--took it off the market."

It is conspicuously absent from the most recent (and hopefully final) remastered version released on Giant's own Alucard label. LOL
