Front row seats - at the far left of the stage.
Outstanding show.

Highlights:
Cletus Awreetus Awrightus
Don't You Ever Wash That Thing
Big Swifty
Po'jama People
Fifty Fifty
Don't Eat Yellow Snow - with a new section with a stunning Dweezil guitar solo after St. Alfonzo - and a spectacular version of Rollo.

It's too bad the packed hall was mostly over fifty.
This is the only place to get the Zappa live experience nowadays.

Dweezil and his band have learned how to do an authentic Zappa show - with audience participation.

The only thing missing was Dweezil conducting the band (he did it on last year's tour).

I'll post a few photos after I get home.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I saw them here in PA with Return to Forever, fantastic show.  Did you get the instrumental Fifty Fifty?  And did Big Swifty have the Megaphone bebop solo?

Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Yes.  And yes.

They played in Boston as the opener for RTF, but I chose to see them on their own, to see them play a longer set.

Mrs. Evolver, who let me have the seat with the better view (the tickets were my fathers day gift), was thrilled when Scheila Gonzalez saw her peeking around the speaker stack (which was surprisingly not overpoweringly loud). and came around to wave at her (other audience members thought we knew the band).

After the show, we spoke briefly with singer Ben Thomas.  He seemed like a cool guy.  We didn't try to push through the mass around Dweezil.  I spoke with him briefly last year at their Hampton Beach show.

Sadly, no one commented on my PA t-shirt.

Sorry - I used my phone for the pictures - I'm not much of a photographer.

Saw them opening for RTF. Highlight was Chick coming out and playing King Kong with them.

^ You kidding!!!  I would've died to see them play King Kong let alone with Chick!  I was waiting for Jean Luc Ponty to jump over to ZPZ but alas that didn't happen either.

Hi,

I reviewed their show with RTF IV in Eugene, Oregon.

I thought about posting it here, but did not want to take the focus away from ZPZ on the discussion.

Thanks a bunch

I thought that it was sad that Chick got to play and Dweezil did not bring out Jean Luc ... it would help bridge the gap and understanding between various musics and styles ... something that I'm starting to feel that Dweezil has not bridged very well yet.
