Just started playing Bayonetta on PS3. Boy these are some craaaaaaaazy cut scenes. Not really enjoying it much, but I can see that it would make a good movie. Similar to Sucker Punch, only good.

I'm really good at the Rock Band games and have been playing since the first guitar hero game, but after a few years now when I've started to get better at the real thing I find most video-games to be a big waste of time. I used to love video-games but now I find that playing any game ALONE is a big waste of time. Even pointless games like WoW can be kinda fun when playing with some good friends, but then it might just be, it's not the game that's fun and you could have just as fun having a regular skype-chat. CS:Source is for some reason one of the only games I can play without feeling that I'm wasting my life in front of a video-game becouse of the fun mods and the fact that it's fun to sometimes just sit like a total no-lifer and troll 13 year old boys. I think I've wasted about 600 hours playing it. Oh, and I also just wanted to say that playing way too much Rock Band drums has damaged my left hand and wrist so I now have to be really careful when I play guitar becouse some slight ergonomical mistakes can make me unable to play for a week (or when it's healed again) becouse of the pain.

I was thinking about going for another big playthrough of Oblivion before Skyrim launches, but thanks to schoolwork that doesn't seem likely. Ended up preordering Skyrim today, went with a special edition only available at EB Games (Australia's Gamestop). It includes the pre-order bonus map + a ton of other free stuff at Australian RRP (which is extortionate, but eh). Only problem now is that it comes out the friday before my final high school exams, so I'm gonna have to use all my willpower to abstain from playing for that week. |

Almost finished Final Fantasy VIII. The castle in the end is annoying difficult with some of my characters at level 20 or something and not with the best junctions.
But thanks to teh interwebz I found a way to get the airship back and access the islands closest to heaven and hell to level up and draw some spells. Edited by Vompatti - August 22 2011 at 12:49 |

Honestly i think the special edition pre-order for Skyrim is a bit bleh. -If it's the same one...
It's like 120$ for a Map, Plastic Figurine and a cool Art Book.

Hey Jody. I've never played Minecraft and the blocky graphics put me off. However, Terraria looks much more like my thing. I've been tempted to check it out but have yet to do so. I've been playing a small amount of Forsaken World though. I haven't had a chance to fully delve into it though. It looks immense though! |

Picked up Human Revolution at midnight. This is an incredibly fun game, and actually looks more in-depth and engaging than the first. You might think there's some hand-holding going on by the previews, but you can turn off a lot of the assists (it gets pretty hard then. The cover system works. It's hard ["normal difficulty" gives you about 5 enemy hits before you die (unaugmented)]. And it is doing beautiful job of setting the style, technology, and climate of the future.
Short of having a truly immersive Blade Runner action-RPG, this is the best sci-fi game I've experienced in almost ever. Here's to hoping it keeps it up.

Oh, sorry guys, I thought all the US stores were under the name Gamestop and that EB Games was the Australian branding Either way, they're usually super expensive here outside of sales/pre-order bonuses. Still debating if I should get Human Revolution now or wait until I finish school (mid november). Probably gonna go with the latter to avoid the distraction. |

Oblivion and Mortal Kombat 9 are the only games in my view still. Oblivion for alone, MK9 with friends. However it's gotten to the point where I'm not aloud to be Sub-Zero because I just absolutely massacre even my most skilled friends. I need new challengers.

My son bought and started playing Minecraft while it was still in Beta and I would watch him play and the graphics really turned me off too.I have been playing video games since the Pong and Atari days and I am not a retro gamer,I don't like taking a step back. But once I got over that issue and started playing I had a blast with it. Give Terraria a try if it intrigues you,it is really fun to play.

Thanks Jody.
The graphics style of Terraria looks much more my thing, to be honest. It's about £4.99 on Steam, so not too pricey either. Plus it's only a small download. I may give it a go at some point after |'ve played more of Forsaken World. |
