All Hail Faust! indeed. Out of my favorite Krautrock music, Faust's wacky Krautrock was fun, and crazy! They sound like madmen. I'm recently enjoying my Faust, So Far, and the Wuume years. So epic and weird.
Still need to get into ADII's, Tanz. After Faust though |

I wanted to mention that the two AMON DUUL albums i mentioned earlier are the UK version of the band with two original AMON DUUL II members in Anderson and Weinzierl along with Guy Evans(VDGG) on drums. Robert Calvert(HAWKWIND) would also eventually join. So a pretty good lineup but of course AMON DUUL II is classic but i feel this later version holds their own quite well.

I know we´ve been talking a lot about Amon Düül ll, but do any of you guys have their newest "Bee as Such"? I downloaded it a month ago - I still think it´s the only way to get the album btw, - and there is still no front cover, but who really cares? Ahem, part of me misses an artwork - call me old fashioned...
Anyways, this album rocks!!!! Damn, I would never had thought in a million years - they still were able to jam like this! On their homepage, they state something about this not being 70s sounding and Kraut, but to tell you the truth, I don´t think they´ve sounded this Kraut since Vive Le Trance, and I happen to like Nada Moonshine very much. This is really a return to form, and Renate sounds just as powerful and witchey as she´s always done! If anything, I think this record exudes the same kind of awe for music they seemed to have during the start of the 70s - that sense of everything goes, as long as we keep ourselves deeply emotionally involved with the magic universe of music, or something like that. There is a new found urge to freak out, which you´ll hear frequently on the album - especially on the last track, but in fact spread out on most of the album. If you like Amon Düül ll of the good ol´ days, you should definitely check out this record! Just look at the line-up: Line-up: Track List: |

And in an email from John on the website ... he called this album 'b*****d" ... (no kidding) and would not discuss it.
The version of "Deutsch Nepal" is hilarious ... the voice is speeded up and is off the record falsetto and playing both of these back to back will get one laughing a lot!
I personally liked the album and there is at least one piece from there that Renate redid later, and had a different version of it (different song, but same subject) in the "Hijack" album.
It is a very nice album and deserves to be distributed ... but I doubt I will let go of my LP!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Listened to ALCATRAZ today. The one called "Vampire State Building".Anyway i love that opening track called "Simple Headphone Mind" it's 10 minutes of bliss for me.I'll always remember the very first time i heard it and i had to rush over to make sure i hadn't put in the wrong cd.It sounded like NUCLEUS from 1970.Piano and flute led and jazzy.I'm thinking to myself that i know this track,i've heard it before somewhere.Anyway the song changes but that theme keeps coming back and it's fantastic. I still haven't found a song that it sounds like but man it sounds familiar.Just a great album all the way through.

It's not even listed on the RYM site which usually has everything on it. Maybe it's because it wasn't released as a physical product. There's not even cover art for it. I'm not really sure other than that.

^Yep, i think it´s something to do with that as well. People tend to need art work, before they´ll pass the music for an "album". Part of me thinks that we should list it on PA with a picture (maybe the picture from their homepage - that sits beside the actual release, when you click it.), and another part just thinks it should be included without art work. All in all it´s about the music and how it makes you feel, and like I pointed out before- The Amon Düül ll experience hasn´t been this on fire and Kraut in a very long time.
Glad to see somebody notice this out of the blue record

Although they look like fossils by now, I have to agree with you that Psychedelic Suite is excellent. I was going to say something about red wine and age, but you probably catch my drift. Speaking of that suite: |

Listened to "Wolf City" tonight which i think was really the last great AMON DUUL II record.I know some will disagree but that's just my opinion.More song oriented here but there's something about it that retains that Krautrock spirit.
