I don't watch the news - not because I'm an American, but because I sincerely don't give a damn about any of it, American or otherwise. I live in a secluded glen of an area where the most shocking news is some poor misunderstood teenager gets upset and hangs himself, or maybe a neighbor gets their toe cut off while gardening. I'm too busy doing things to watch other people doing things.

That's funny. A few years back my neighbor was burning trash (because you burn your goddamn trash in southern Virginia) and he burned it in the middle of a hot summer day right next to some dry brush which was adjacent to our storage barn. Goodbye storage barn. He then tried to lie for insurance purposes and say it was empty when it had more than 15,000 dollars in motorcycle equipment, mattresses, books, dressers, and all sorts of materials. Then my now-deceased grandmother (of a dreadful Oxycontin overdose) tried to falsify insurance claims and say it was her barn, which she suceeded in doing and suceeded in taking half our claim.
