I need a gamepad. I use the keyboard, which works fine, but I'd imagine a gamepad making it even more enjoyable.

I think I prefer a keyboard to that. I want the one that looks like an xbox controller.

Eh, never could get past the first few scenarios. The randomness really got on my nerves. What, 99.7% chance to kill and 0.001% chance to die? LOL YOU DIED. Matching strength against weakness gives you 80% hit chance at best, and you can never dodge better than 90%, so with 4-attack rounds, it's really easy to take what should be an instant victory and just lose outright. I prefer games where you can actually count on your troops.
PS:T could be better. There could be more of it. Also, I've found that between Hitman 2 and Blood Money, I've become a terrible hitman. Sure, I keep trying to play on Pro, but I just plain gave up on subtlety in the second mission (the opera) and shot the place to hell.
Oh, how I missed the days when games kicked my ass. |

Yeah, Blood Money plays a lot differently despite having the same basic ideas/gameplay mechanics.
The theater mission was really difficult considering it was one of the first missions, although it's probably my favourite. Highlight for spoilers: If you get an actor's uniform from backstage, the replica world war gun from the coat room at the start of the mission, and set up a mine on the the lights above the stage, you can shoot the actor whilst he's on stage and blow up the lights so they crush the other guy when he comes down later. I think Silent Assassin is still my favourite from the series, although Blood Money has some great missions too.

Yeah, I know how you're supposed to do it, but I couldn't ever get on stage without getting shot or killing 240 people. It was just easier to lure all the guards to a door and waste them en masse. Enemies are bad about telling you "HEY, SECURITY GUARD, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AT A SECURITY POST!" |

Oh
The AI is kinda ridiculous in parts. I love how on any difficulty, walking into a closet or trying to open a locked door gets you instantly shot at. I still love how running in Silent Assassin gets you caught instantly too btw anyone else pumped for Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Still tossing up whether or not I'll grab the PS3 version, or wait till the end of the year, build a gaming rig and grab it for that since I'm sure the PC version will sh*t on the console port.

Yeah, I do like how I can actually run up stairs now without having 40 guards up my ass.
I'm not big on pre-orders, but DX3 was on sale for like $25 for a preorder, so I grabbed it. DX2 was such a disappointment, but it looks like they're doing a lot to set things right. |

I know it'll be a major theme, but the game can't do justice to that kind of trailer. Not unless it's 80 hours long and 70% speech, anyway (a-la Xenogears, PS:T). Edited by Gamemako - July 23 2011 at 11:20 |

I'm guessing it'll be mostly action, although from what I've seen/heard about the leaked section of the game, it'll be fairly long. There's 5 cities, and the first (in the leak) clocks in for most people at around 12 hours if you watch/read dialogue and don't skip cutscenes. I really do miss heavily text/dialogue based games, though. Hard to play more recent stuff after playing something like PS:T. I've watched a few hours of it, and most of the dialogue sections seem to range from 3 minutes to around 10 or so. Obviously not anything compared to the old days, but refreshing none the less.

Skyrim, Dark Souls, Uncharted 3 and I'm thinking of picking up No More Heroes for the PS3.
Never wanted 4 games before lol Anyone know about no more heroes? Saw it on the wii and looked pretty cool, now it's being made for the psthrizzle and I'm contemplating it. |

I've played No More Heroes and the sequel for the Wii. I don't know anything about the PS3 version but base don the Wii version, expect:
1) Fun gameplay and good use of motion control that is fun in 20 minute bursts, which is about how long the levels are 2) Over-the-top bosses and scenarios (this is the best part of the game =D) 3) annoying between-mission mini-games. (They fixed this in the sequel)

Raa, the difficulty in this game is so uneven!
I dominated this fight, but I fought another where I was supposed to utterly crush the opponent and barely came out alive. Better yet, I loaded my savegame, hit the auto-calc, and suitably obliterated the opponent. This fight, by comparison, was supposed to be a close one -- 73% to 68% (the game gives you an army strength rating relative to the most powerful army in the world at the time). |

King Arthur. Basically, an attempt to bring RPG elements into a Total-War-style game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. |
