Wow, I really had never heard about this!

What a way to go out.
In all honesty, he's actually right, even if not as per
plexing as Post-Rock/Math Rock combination.  I rarely pay attention to the Prog element of PA anymore, so I really don't care.

Teh Isis album?
Could never get into myself.

It's significantly less posty than everything later, but I'm enjoying it a hell of a lot.

That it is, but I dont dislike it relative to later stuff "zomg this isnt Panopticon!" but its just boring.
Like Isis was finding themselves, its really minimalist and droning but has nothing else!

I do need to try their EP's though

I remember one time he derided Walter because Walter called him out in only a few sentences.  Moshkito called it a three-minute pop song compared to his grandiose epics.  Not even kidding.

I think he really believes what he writes to a certain extent.  Just look at his RYM.  However, I did find a three-star review of an album by the Flower Kings by him.Shocked

Roine Stolt was in Kaipa during the 70's so that would probably be Walter's out on that rating.

Right about what?  The 2nd last post of the thread sums everything up, he feels that the hard work of the subgenre team isn't good enough and it should be scrapped for something he threw together poorly.

lmao when I told him about moshy leaving here were his replies:

"Did he really say that, or is that just something inferred from casually gazing at his bricks of text?"

"Interesting words from a guy that goes on a ten page bender whenever anyone posits the notion of a genre. Glad to see him go; loading time on PA threads will now decrease by at least 60%."

Oops, I didn't actually read the post, as you would expect.  I just assumed that he was talking about dividing the subgenre, but I was wrong.

We all loved his random pop ins to a thread to shut down whatever idiot was babbling with a witty one liner.
Walter is a slick genius and we know it

Walter is a lone voice of reason in a world of insanity and hysteria.
