There was talk a couple of years ago about a new album, new songs up on the myspace and then... nothing. Are they still active? Will the new album ever see the light of day?

IDK, but Skymind is a pretty good album.
Strangely enough, it is listed in eclectic prog even though Indukti is on exp/post.

Probably because Indukti are a metal band and Taal arent.  Skymind and Mister Green are both excellent albums, would definitely be nice if they released something new though.

IDK, I think the guitars have some pretty clear metal riffing, but I know I don't speak for the majority in this particular matter.

They definitely crossed into metal territory at times but not frequently enough to consider them a genuine metal band, IMO.
