Giving this another shot.  Really boring New Age crap in my opinion so we'll see if I make it through it or not.

I think that that Battles album has a really cool album cover.  I'll have to check out the music one of these days.

For now:

I like that album.  Many others I like better by AP.  But yeah, it pretty much isn't the first album I'd go to.

Just wrapped up this one.

Not one of their finest.  I actually did that linoleum thing in either high school or middle school art class.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I think that I have too many years of being a hard rock/metal fan flowing through my veins.  I just can't take the really slow, what I consider boring, music that he plays here and elsewhere.   I have the same problem with Fripp and Eno's ambient stuff.  Maybe in the right setting I would consider it to be beautiful music, but I wasn't in that setting at that moment.

Anyhow, now playing some early 90's alternative rock.

Some may feel the title of this album is appropriate for me given my above opinion. LOL

I can identify with that from an opposite perspective.  I worked at a used bookstore for a few years in high school.  I often had control of the music but I didn't want to get in the way of the customers doing their browsing so I tended to the mellower stuff including ambient.  I basically don't like metal much.  And I've been into ambient for a long time.
