I would probably lie too just to see where the conversation went. It couldn't be worse than the time I laughed audibly when a girl said she liked Fall Out Boy.

Hahaha, girls asking about your music taste always messes everything up.

I just usually say "oh, weird stuff you've never heard of".  However they then ask who... so I say a few names and they say "oh, I've heard of them" or "oh, I like some of their stuff".

I'm like... what?

They have no clue who I am talking about and are just being polite.

Also, whenever I mention Magma people say "Magnum?" or some other misheard word.

Only reason she started talking to me was because I had an Opeth shirt on, that was how she knew we had some taste overlap.

Before I go, I'll say that I got this SUPER INSANELY BEAUTIFUL woman to talk to me about Floyd for a while when I wore my Animals shirt to uni one day. But she was several leagues above my league.
