Nah brah.  His music is actually pretty similar to Coldplay's, to be honest.
Confused

Umm... no comment.

Also, it was only a joke.
If you took "Light Collapse into Earth" and played it among Coldplay songs, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, no troll.

Do you mean "Collapse the Light into Earth?"  Wink

Yeah, I made the mistake of buying the reissue of the 1979 recording instead of the newer one, so I'm missing around 30 mins of the material on the new version.  I'm planning to get it sometime soon...ish, because it's the version I listened to and enjoyed on Myspace before Myspace turned worse than it was.

Yeah it's an awesome recording.

I need more Philip Glass, more Steve Reich, and more music similar to those two.  Any suggestions?

For Philip Glass I'd say his albums Glassworks, Second Violin Concerto, and Solo Piano. I also really enjoy his second symphony, but people seem to not like that. Those would be my favorites of his.

For Reich obviously Music for 18 Musicians. My favorite Reich is actually his Octet/Music for a Large Ensemble album. Different Trains is also a must, as is Drumming. I like his Early Work compilation a lot too. Start with those.

Alright, I have Different Trains and Music for 18 Musicians already, I'll look into the rest.  What about similar composers?

Terry Riley is always thrown in as similar. Not quite sure I'd go with that.

My favorite composers who I would call similar would be Moondog, John Adams, and Gorecki.

If you like opera, John Adam's Nixon in China is a must. So beautiful; it's completely perfect. If you don't, I'd say find his Shaker Loops. Moondog's first album 1969 is the place to go for him. Gorecki is obviously the 3rd Symphony if you haven't heard that.

Derp, especially because I love that song.  Since both Coldplay and PT are both inspired by Radiohead (particularly their poppier side), the connections are valid.

That must have been a really long time ago.  I remember when I first came here, Matt still had only a little over a 1000 posts.

Wait really?

I've always remembered Matt as having an insanely large number of posts and I've been here longer than you... Maybe I'm imagining things. LOL

I used to think getting to 20k was nearly impossible and I was proud of my 10k. Looks like that's nothing now.

Looks like I chose a good time to ask for recommendations on music from you, Pat.  Nonesuch is releasing (or has recently released, not sure yet) a reissue of the original recording of Nixon in China.
