1) Jethro Tull 2) King Crimson 3) Genesis 4) Frank Zappa (in a list that is not only "prog" he would be higher) 5) Pink Floyd 6) Gentle Giant 7) Banco del Mutuo Soccorso 8) Renaissance 9) Emerson Lake & Palmer 10) New Trolls
Okay, men: I do not like Yes. And I do not think Beatles are prog. Beatles are everything, no label for them.

Off the top of my head it is:
1. Rush 2. Soft Machine 3. Guapo 4. Van der Graaf Generator / Peter Hammill 5. Vanden Plas 6. Dream Theater 7. Mars Volta 8. King Crimson 9. Magic Pie 10. Clevis

Like many of us it changes from time to time so this list is just at the moment. For the hell of it I'll list my favorite album by each band in parenthesis, again this changes often too but these are my favorite albums by them at this point.
1.Rush (Moving Pictures)
2. Iron Maiden ( Powerslave)
3. The Beatles (currently a tie between abbey road, revolver and rubber soul)
4. Yes (close to the edge)
5. Genesis ( tie between seling england by the pound and a trick of the tail)
6. Dream Theater ( falling into infinity)
7. King Crimson ( in the court of the crimson king)
8. The Mars Volta ( deloused in the comatorium)
9. Radio Head ( tie between hail to the thief and kid a)
10. Tool( Aenima)
