Topic: Least Favorite Insect Posted: February 18 2011 at 05:53 |
I used to have this Zim guidebook to insect pests... I believe these are all six legged critters.
Some nice ones: Bees, Ladybugs, Praying Mantises...

I see no votes yet. It's really kind of whatever one is bugging you at the moment kind of thing. I could have simplified this into bloodsuckers, vegetable/fruit attackers, things that sting you, and things that just fly around and generally annoy you. Still the choice would be hard. I must admit, I am conflicted about a couple of the varieties. Bees can sting you but they also pollinate and some make good honey. Wasps can also sting you but some varieties lay eggs on horn wormed caterpillars, which eat tomato plants. The larvae then bore into the caterpillar and eat its guts out while its still alive. BTW, fixed the Weevils misspelling.

That's weevils... not weevles (I had to look it up)
as for the poll:
except for Locusts, Ants and Caterpillars.... I feel like voting for

Flies are proof that God/Mother Nature/whatever has a sense of humour...a very sick and twisted sense of humour.

I voted other for slugs which I think might be insects and here in washington are notorious plant eaters. I do not want them in my veggie patch. Slimy devils.

I know spiders aren't insects but they should all die horrible deaths. As for this list: kill them all

I've never had them, but I would not like to have bedbugs.

Flies. They remind me of drunk english girls:
Keep bumping into walls.
Irritating, loud.
You flick them away they just forget what happened and they come flying/walking back again.
They barf on their food.
