Embarrassed Never knew you had Sabbath on your collection. Do you consider them a good band? Compared to Rush? Fave album?

It would not be accurate to say Black Sabbath are one of my favorites, and I consider Rush to be a far superior band, but yes, they make some excellent music and create very interesting riffs.  I've never thought Ozzy was a very good singer though (his singing on "Symptom of the Universe" is terrible).

I really dig the album Paranoid.  You get a sense of how excellent Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are, and you can really enjoy their dynamic.

Oh, and I like the debut a lot too!  The redone version of "N.I.B." used to wake up me up every morning (that or something by Matchbox 20) when I'd set my alarm to get up for school, so I got sick of "N.I.B." for a while, but it's still a great hard rock song.

Awesome! I wouldn't call them favorites of mine either, but I held them very high in the "rock world", with indeed Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler being beasts in their respective instruments.

My favorite album of theirs is either the debut or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, the latter being a very prog effort imho. Concerning Ozzy, yeah he's not a good singer at all, but in the first three albums or so, he fitted the band's gloomy aspect perfectly. He later got all whiny and rather annoying.

Opposite to you, I used to go to sleep with Black Sabbath some years ago. It wasn't scary at all as it may sound.LOL
