I definitely need a lot more Dolphy - that's all I own so far. None of the music stores around here carry anything more (I was even lucky to find this one!) so I'll probably order his stuff online like I do nearly all my music.

You are not the only one Jon but then again who would carry in stock what I want They really have become musical deserts for me most cd stores or vinyl. Most just carry the charts.........its awful. The other good Eric is his "Out There" album. Different to Out to Lunch...........more spacey but just as good. Avante that is. Heap of Hard Bop as well he has done. I have his Live at the 5 Spot, (Both), Iroman and Outward Bound.

You have awesome taste. I am serious,l love Country. Canadian Railroad Trilogy,Early Morning Rain,If You Could Read my Mind ,Sundown. Lovely to see someone else playing Country.
I am still on the Avante though.................Disc 4 ,Jelly Roll Morton was the influence for this I believe and that was noticable with the intro for the first track " Bermuda Blues"..............Last track is named "Spotted Dick is Pudding".

This proud Canadian says thanks you.
I highly recommend Bruce Cockburn as well.
If you're interested, check out his "Live Solo" double CD album if you can get into folk as well.
He's a guitar god to me when it comes to accoustic guitar.
What made me a jazz consumer is "The Cat" by Jimmy Smith.

Thanks ..........see you tomorrow. I have some of the early Cockburn's but not the live one you mentioned. I am big fan of lightfoot. Played that Sundown album to death.

Actually it's "Bruce Cockburn - Slice O Life - Live Solo". It's a pretty recent release.
First album for me was "In The Falling Dark"".
I'll see if I can find "Sundown" on my next vinyl hunt. Alxways dug this big smiley emoticon.
