I want an 8-string bass (doubled strings, not extra strings), they sound pretty neat when played correctly.

RIght, that's what I'm waiting for.  The jazz applications would be endless!
And Jon, check this out:

If I ever got an 8 string (4x2), I'd be tempted to tune it like a mandolin.

I've heard some 12-string stuff, but that video's embedding has been disabled by request.

That's alright, he barely plays anything until the last five seconds, he was moreso demonstrating how he triple-octave tuned it.

I have to admit the skill and time in creating this sculpture of poop. Although he was really lazy by having the base of almost the whole thing be Dynamite, come on.

Does he tune it with the octave strings teh same as the bass strings?  If I ever get an 8 (actually I want a 10 more), I want to experiment with some of the stuff Michael Manring does...he tunes the octave strings differently than the bass strings. Wacko

Embedding disabled by request pisses me off so much. Why do they do it? How can it possibly benefit them?

I don't know, maybe they think we'll go watch it on Youtube and visit their channel or something meaningless.

I hate people who refuse to type or text full words.  It's beyond stupid and it's maddening to no end.

I was referring more to his insanity about global warming and chemtrails, but that is annoying as well. But to be fair, twitter does have a sharp character limit.

Oh, I wasn't talking about Billy Corgan, I just meant in general.

Also, the dude has to be kinda nutty if he likes to perform like this:

I also think it's kinda funny how most of the people who write nutso avant-garde or experimental music usually look pretty normal, but it's the people that write pop or simple rock music that look like the weirdos or extras from a B-movie set.

Yeah, the tech-metal guys or even the guys who write proggy/super experimental metal just dress normally.

Then when you get to simple, poppy (read: glam) metal is when people start dressing like f*cking aliens.

I always like to see metal bands who don't have the stereotypical metal image.
