Anyone know of a good free-game sit in the net? Pop-cap used to be nice- but it sucks now.
Thanks |

I got this for Christmas and started playing it today: So far it's excellent, even if I'm not accustomed to this kind of role-playing. I decided I finally had to venture out into the world of Western RPG's.

Finally got around to Heavy Rain. Spoilerific: Pretty much same thing here. Ethan refused to go on with the second task (can't refuse the first), refused to kill, and refused to suicide. Madison figured everything out and called him. Agent Jayden figured out everything with the ARI, but overindulged in the ARI and started hallucinating video tanks in the real world. The 3 appeared at the warehouse and saved Shaun (specifically, Ethan saved him). The killer died at the hands of Norman, despite that he was given a second chance. The prostitute victim was very angry with the killer, as you might imagine. Ethan and Madison, having gone all the way to the endzone previously, started a new life in a new apartment. God only knows what happened to Ethan's first wife or why Ethan kept blacking out and waking up at Canary with an origami figure in his hand. |

Gonna be totally honest here: Skyrim will not look that great. It's made for the current generation of consoles which have already pretty well maxed out their processing power (especially the 360). It won't be any more involving or customizable; in fact, going by Bethesda's more recent offerings, it will be simplified further. Speaking of the 360, it came out alongside the GeForce 7 and Radeon X1xxx series. Really, it's like a 6-year-old computer with an X1900 in it. It's pathetic, yet because nobody's making a new console, everyone is stuck with this as a graphics bottleneck. Microsoft thinks it should last until 2015, but it's already horrendously outdated. I wonder if they make these claims in order to be first out the door on the new console generation. A new 6970 can produce 10 times the floating point operations of the 360's GPU. Five years from now, when Microsoft thinks the current console generation will end, that number will likely be 100 times more processing power. It's like comparing a Playstation to a PS3. Seriously, by 2015, you'll have handhelds with more power than a 360. Hell, we may have them in 2012. Insane. |

Not to be disrespectful, but have you even read any of the articles about Skyrim? They've stated that they have redesigned the engine(s) used to make the game; the physics engine is redone, they're now using the Radiant story engine for the questing, a new combat engine, re-done UI, everything's had a makeover basically. Graphics on the consoles may be maxed out, but us PC gamers don't have such a cap. Frankly, if the gameplay was good I wouldn't care much if it looked like Morrowind again. I hate how so many people claim that a game is only as good as its graphics. And for what it's worth, the few screenshots we've been able to see do look better than those from Oblivion. I plan to put as much time into it as I have into both Morrowind and Oblivion, aka several hundred hours at the least. |

I have read all about it. Remember Deus Ex: Invisible War? Redone physics, new UI, new quest engine, and completely sh*tty game? And no, they aren't going to make two versions of the game just so PC gamers can make use of the superior hardware. Quite the contrary, really. They will just get lazier with the PC port because they can afford massive inefficiency. The game is being built for consoles from the ground up because that's where the money is. There are somewhere around 100 million 360s and PS3s worldwide, and that's a tough market to pass on. |

I'm still looking forward to it too. And when it's the best game in the series, making it one of the best RPGs ever, I won't complain. Plus, I never said that the company themselves would be the ones to update the graphics for the PC version. The Elder Scrolls games have exceptionally large modding communities - both of the games have been the subject of heavy graphics updates by fans of the games, not to mention other mods which do anything from add hundreds of new items to new areas/quest lines. As I said earlier, I really don't care if they don't update the graphics from Oblivion - it's the gaming experience I'll care about, and for games such as these PC is the clear way to go if able. Bethesda doesn't skimp on their PC games, from my experience.

Anything with this guy, except those crappy Battle Network games.
My other favorites include Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Max Payne, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Gears Of War, Final Fantasy (mainly VII), the newer Fallouts and NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. |
